Atkins Since 1990 Dan Atkins has been a disabilities rights and poverty lawyer with the Community Legal Aid Society, Inc (“CLASI”) in Delaware. Dan began his career as a Staff Attorney with responsibilities in both the poverty and disabilities programs, became a Senior Attorney in 1995, and Legal Advocacy Director of CLASI’s Disabilities Law Program (DLP) in 1997. As Legal Advocacy Director, Dan trained and supervised attorneys, and coordinated and oversaw the advocacy efforts of the DLP statewide. Dan has litigated individual cases and/or class actions in every court in the State of Delaware, including the U.S. District Court. Dan has litigated numerous cases enforcing the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the Social Security Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Housing Act, the Medicaid Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Unites States Housing Act, and various provisions of the United States Constitution.
