    IOSR Journal Of Humanities And Social Science (IOSR-JHSS) Volume 24, Issue 2, Ser. 7 (Feb. 2019) 75-123 e-ISSN: 2279-0837, p-ISSN: 2279-0845. www.iosrjournals.org An Analysis of Politeness Strategy and Cooperative Principles in Angry Birds Movie Agustiawan Teacher Training and Education Faculty, University of Lampung, Indonesia Email: [email protected] Abstract: This research aims to identify the politeness strategy and violated maxims of cooperative principles used by the characters of a movie entitled Angry Birds. It is a content analysis research since the main source of data is transcription of movie dialog. Watching the video, listening to the dialogues and reading the transcription of dialogues were conducted in data collection. Descriptive qualitative was used to categorize the utterances into politeness strategies types used in the conversations among the characters of the film and decided maxim violated by the speakers or hearers. The result shows 84 utterances in the dialogues representing Bald on Record, 62 positive politenes, 39 negative politeness and 112 off record utterances. Besides, in each utterance violated one maxim and fulfilled others. Therefore, it can be concluded that movie can be used both by the learners and the teachers to enrich understanding the pragmatics aspects of language especially in term of politeness strategy and violated maxims of cooperative principles. If you asked me which one is my favorite bird, I would pick Bomb (voiced by Danny McBride in the film) because, you know, explosions. And I become an angry lady whenever my ranking slips from the gold league to silver. Do I care if the birds have personalities or backstories? Not really. I just want these furious fowl to smash into the obnoxious little green porkers while racking up a big score. It’s a very shallow relationship but probably the longest one I have had with a game since I spent an entire summer trying to beat my friend Angela at lawn darts. “The Angry Birds Movie” isn’t a total turkey. The animation itself is OK and I did laugh out loud once when a poem written by Bomb rhymed “hate” with “detonate.” But it sure has a surfeit of derivative stuffing amid all the frantic chaos in an attempt to distract from the fact that there isn’t much that's inventive or even funny here.

Doppia inaugurazione il 24 luglio, sì darà il via alla XXIII edizione con un progetto ine- dito a cura di Daniela Attili, Ventotene – Cassino In carcere prima della prima. Il festival da anni si occupa anche dei temi legati al sociale più vicini alla natura dell’isola che lo ospita, e quest’anno una delle novità è un gemellaggio fra carceri, quello bor- bonico dell’isola di Santo Stefano, e la casa Circondariale di Cassino, dove il 24 luglio, sarà proiettato il film Fiore di Claudio Giovannesi, che sarà presente in sala insieme alla protagonista Daphne Scoccia con Antonio Perucatti autore del libro Quel crimi- nale di mio padre, a cui il progetto si ispira, e Pier Vittorio Buffa autore di Non volevo morire così entrambi editi da Ultima Spiaggia. Il 26 luglio, invece, una piccola delega- zione di operatori penitenziari e detenuti (che già usufruiscono di permessi premio) parteciperà alla serata della premiazione del concorso #Open Frontiers#.
