Hong Kong High Speed Rail Trains to be Named “動感號 ”

The MTR Corporation today (23 March 2018) announced the results of the High Speed Rail Train Naming Competition, which aimed at offering a platform for the general public to be directly involved in the Express Rail Link project. Among the 16,000 entries, the judging panel selected “動感號” (translated as “Vibrant Express”) as the name for the nine - owned high speed trains, and it will be shown on the body of the trains when they enter service.

Among the many creative entries submitted by members of the public, the judging panel finally picked “動感號” as the winning name as they considered that it can best demonstrate Hong Kong’s characteristics. In addition, the panel also gave the three merit awards to “HKSPEED”, “飛躍” and “光纖”.

As there were multiple entries with the winning and merit names, a lucky draw was carried out to decide on the awardees. The winner of the competition will receive MTR Malls gift vouchers worth HK$10,000, two first-class round-trip high speed rail train tickets to Guangzhou, one night’s hotel accommodation in Guangzhou for two people and a high speed rail train model. Each merit awardee will receive two first-class round-trip high speed rail train tickets to Guangzhou and one night’s hotel accommodation in Guangzhou for two people.
