This major redevelopment project is much more than a stunning architectural group of buildings to grace this key site on the edge of the old city. The project has been clouded by uncertainty since it was first mooted more than a decade ago, in 2000. Sylvain Villiard, Secretary General and Associate Executive Director, has been juggling the project since its inception, through a series of changes of administration and policy. The present site was finally chosen in 2005, by which time, he says, his team had become very good at site evaluation! Then there was a period of discussion about the size of the hospital: it replaces three existing facilities with a total of 1,000 beds, so the government’s preference for a much more smaller facility had to be questioned.     It is a great pleasure for me to introduce CFTE's first research report "Fintech 50: 5 Years in Fintech". Our mission at CFTE is to help organisations and people transform themselves at a time when technology is quickly reshaping financial services. Some organisations will leverage technology and thrive. Others will not be able to adapt, and fall behind. The same will apply to people. But we hope that with the right knowledge, mindset and network, many will make the most of today's opportunities in finance. This report will hopefully help towards this goal, and give readers an understanding of how Fintech has evolved during the last 5 years - and give them some hints on how Fintech will further develop in the future. In response to these petitions and the more general concerns for the status of Pacific salmon throughout the region, NMFS announced that it would initiate ESA status reviews for all species of anadromous salmonids in the Pacific Northwest. These comprehensive reviews will consider all populations in the states of Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and California. This report summarizes the conclusions of the NMFS Biological Review Team (BRT) for the ESA status review of chum salmon. But the power play and penalty kill have come limping out of the gate for the Winnipeg Jets. While they’ve managed to string together a 3-2-0 start — thanks mainly to some strong five-on- five play and some stellar goaltending the last three games, all wins — they’re certainly playing with fire if things don’t improve. The Jets are currently second-worst in the NHL when short-handed, killing off 71.4 per cent of all penalties (15 for 21). Their power play isn’t much better, going just 2-for-19 so far. The 10.5 per cent success rate is 23rd overall in the league. "We can do everything a little faster, not force too many things. Try and just get the pucks to the net, get some traffic and just put it in from there," forward Nikolaj Ehlers said Monday of the power play. "When we try and do too much, that’s when it’s not working. So we’re going to have to try and just play simple and get pucks to the net."
