Fordham students have previously cited that some of their desirable motives for drinking are: • to bond with friends, • to relieve stress, • to have fun and enjoy themselves, • to meet new people, • to get close to someone, • or because they’re bored.

We decided to rate the Passport locations based on these reasons. Therefore, each location is rated on: • Romance: measures whether the location is a good place for a date or even to first meet that special someone. • Uniqueness: assesses how “one of a kind” and interesting a place is. • Price: will this location break a college student’s budget? An estimate of the cost of a meal for one person, an item at a store, or the price of a ticket to a show, tour, etc. $ = $1-$9 $$ = $10-$19 $$$ = $20-$29 $$$$ = $30+ • Relaxation: notes how relaxing an activity is.

• Group-friendly: rates whether a location is ideal for a group of friends.

66 67 ThePassport Guide to NYC greatly Neighborhood Map of NYC depends on Achieving Change Together.

Achieving Change Together (ACT) is an official student organization at Rose Hill whose members are trained and advised by the Office of Substance Abuse Prevention & Student Support. ACT provides accurate information and opportunities for the exploration of personal goals and values that challenge and empower students to make safe and informed choices. By taking this proactive and non-judgmental approach, ACT increases awareness and challenges all students to play a role in transforming the culture of substance use on campus.

ACT plans programs such as the Passport Guide to New York City, the Rose Hill Rush, and other interactive educational events. Its members are leaders and role models at Fordham, and play an active role in advocating informed decision- making.

In order to become a member, students must complete Certified ACT Training held every semester. If you are interested in learning more about ACT, please contact us at [email protected], or follow us on Facebook (Fordham Achieving Change Together), Twitter (@FordhamACT), or Instagram (@fordham_act).
