'' to perform in Chumash Auditorium Nov. 18

"Last Comic Standing" winner Dat Phan will perform in Cal Poly's Chumash Auditorium Thursday, Nov. 18, in an 8 p.m. performance free to students and sponsored by Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Events.

Phan is one of the most sought-after young talents in Hollywood today after winning NBC's "Last Comic Standing" in 2003. His TV appearances include CBS' "Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn," NBC's "Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Comedy Central's "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn" and BET's "Comic View."

"I couldn't get enough of Dat Phan when he was on "Last Comic Standing,'" said Brian Bosch, student supervisor of special events. "I just can't stop laughing when he starts impersonating his mom." Phan combines youthful energy and unique life experiences to make his routines unforgettable. According to Phan, his hardships and upbringing in a Vietnamese family are an integral part of his humor. Before winning "Last Comic Standing," the struggling comedian lived out of his car.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Entry will be on a first come first served basis and seats are limited for general admission. Students with Cal Poly IDs are FREE and general admission will be $5 at the door.

Please contact ASI Events for photos of Phan. Interviews may be available upon request. For more information regarding this and other ASI special events, contact Brian Bosch, student supervisor of special events, at 756-1112, [email protected] or visit www.asi.calpoly.edu/events.
