The journal is published four times a year with original research articles in English or Turkish languages on plant protection and health. It includes research on biological, ecological, physiological, epidemiological, taxonomic studies and methods of protection in the field of disease, pest and weed natural enemies that cause damage in plant and plant products. In addition, studies on residue, toxicology and formulations of plant protection products and plant protection machinery are also included. Article evaluation process is based on double blind referee system and published as open access. Annual biological studies, short communication, fisrt report and compilations do not publish in the journal. Abstracted/indexed by EBSCOhost, CAB Abstracts, Clarivate Analytics-Zoological Record, TR-Dizin. Plant Protection Bulletin is quarterly publication of the Directorate of Plant Protection Central Research Institute on behalf of General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies. Disease resistance status of eggplant genotypes were determined by classical testing. The study revealed that it was determined the severity of Keywords: the disease against Verticillium dahliae varied between 8.25-76.53% among the Solanum melongena L., Verticillium genotypes of different eggplant species. As a result of classical testing E4, E5, wilt, resistance E7, E8, E10, E24, E33, E42 eggplant genotypes of different species; Solanum torvum, Solanum incanum, Solanum linnaeanum, Solanum aethiopicum, Solanum * Corresponding author: Ayşegül ÇOLAK ATEŞ sisymbriifolium, Solanum americanum have been found resistant at 7.98-9.87% [email protected] disease severity. It was also determined that 22 eggplant genotypes were moderate-level resistant and 13 eggplant genotypes were in susceptible groups. Eggplant genotypes, where the resistance status of Verticillium wilt determined in the study will contribute to the development of new hybrid eggplant varieties in future. INTRODUCTION Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is a hot climate plant According to the Turkey Statistical Institute 2019 data, originating in India. In recent years, it is known that vegetable production in Turkey reached approximately eggplant has important vitamin and mineral content in 31.1 million tons by increasing 3.5%. In the production of terms of human health, like other vegetables, low calorie vegetables in Turkey, eggplant is in fourth place after tomato, and low glycemic index values, and increased production of pepper and cucumber production (TÜİK 2019).
