Welcome to G.A.L.A. 2016. We hope this year’s theme, “Out of This World”, will give you an idea as to how much money you can spend tonight! We are comfortable in saying this because we know of your commitment to quality Catholic education offered at the three Catholic Schools in Saunders County. G.A.L.A. continues to be an important part of that mission, and I thank you in advance for your generosity. Not too long ago I had the occasion to speak with a group of parents at an Open House we had at Bishop Neumann. I told them that our schools exist at the whim of those families who choose to send their children to our schools. We depend entirely upon their good will. If we were failing in our mission then the school would cease to exist. We are not like a public school where they continue to tax families and run the school regardless of the school’s performance. I don’t mean to denigrate the public school system. Rather, this evening’s celebration is a testament to the wonderful support that exists for the education centered in Christ that takes place here. I give thanks to God for the privilege to be a part of it. Our volunteers have worked diligently to plan a joyful and festive G.A.L.A. 2016. We hope you enjoy “Out of This World”. On behalf of the entire Neumann/Wenceslaus/John Nepomucene family, we offer our thanks for your attendance at this year’s celebration. May the Lord provide for you the hundredfold reward he promised. Sincerely in Christ, Fr. Mike Morin, Bishop Neumann Fr. Charles Townsend, St. Wenceslaus Fr. During the Live Auc- tion, four lucky names will be drawn from among those sold. The grand prize winner will be awarded the $5,000 prize, 2nd Place $4000, 3rd Place $3,000 and 4th Place $1000. You will be asked as you arrive if you would like to partici pate in the Heads or Tails game, which will be played during the Live Auction portion of GALA. 2. Each person who pays to participate will be given an “Out of this World” light up bracelet. The cost of the bracelet is $20 and is your ticket to participate in the raffle. 3. To start the game, the MC asks all the participants to stand up. 4. The MC then announces: “Place your hand on your head (heads) or on your bottom (tails).” Every participant chooses by placing his hands on his head or his tail. 5. The MC flips a coin. If it lands on heads, then all those with their hands on their heads remain standing. Those with their hands on their bums sit down. Or visa versa if the coin lands on tails. 6. The MC announces again, “Choose heads or tails,” and the remaining participants again choose. 7. The MC flips the coin again. Those who chose incorrectly sit down. 8. This continues until one person remains standing. That person is the winner! General Auction Rules 1.
