Respiratory Care Respiratory therapists/respiratory care practitioners are a part of the patient care team assist with treating patients with emphasis on maintaining airways and providing adequate ventiliation and oxygenation. Therapists assess modalities of respiratory therapy and recommend changes – including improvements approproiate to the patient’s plan of care. Please note, some positions may require additional training and/or certifications as deemed necessary by the employer.
