Omamori & Ojuzu Information Page 1 of 5

What is Omamori? Omamori are or charms. There are two general types of charms: one to bring happiness and good fortune; the other to protect people from misfortune. When you wear a charm that has been blessed by a priest or enshrine it in a special area, you can have “peace of mind.” (Omamori guidance, Koyasan Beikoku Betsuin of Los Angeles, 2016)

The Northern California Koyasan Temple offers omamori and ojuzu for pick up at the temple or mailed. All 2021 omamori and ojuzu were blessed by Reverend Mimatsu during the goma fire ritual conducted on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2021. Order forms for omamori and ojuzu are available as a separate file in Word or PDF versions.
