1979 Porsche 924 Turbo Classic Rally Car PRICE £50,000
1979 Porsche 924 Turbo Classic Rally Car PRICE £50,000 ABOUT THIS CAR Rally Preparation Services is delighted to offer an extremely rare opportunity to own this stunning Porsche 924 Turbo. Porsche originally introduced the 924 to its model line-up in dealer showrooms in 1976, Being the first ever front engine rear wheel drive car offered by the manufacturer. Having a transaxle gearbox at the rear giving a 48/52 weight distribution gave unprecedented balance and handling, easily outperforming its rivals in the market. This new project and build was a joint venture with Volkswagen, and it was a totally new approach, Porsche designed the car and VW built it but directly overseen by Porsche. The early 924’s were heavily criticized for their lack of outright power (around 110BHP – 120BHP depending on market) so Porsche re-energized the model in 1978 by installing a KKK Turbocharger giving 170BHP which instantly gave the car that much awaited power – well deserved praise followed for the engineers after finally finding some proper speed to match its excellent handling characteristics. This was the birth of the 924 Turbo. This car offers a particularly limited opportunity to purchase a very capable rally car that is not just striking to look at, but brilliant fun to drive and has a history that absolutely no other Porsche 924 Turbo can offer. The build was completed over a five-year period as a no cost restriction exercise and as a replica of an original works prepared car. When finished this Porsche 924 Turbo was shown at a Porsche Concours show in Switzerland, one of the panel of judges on the day was none other than former Porsche engineer and race and rally driver Jürgen Barth. -

As South Tyrol is situ- ated in the border region between the Italian low- lands and the Alps, it offers perfect terrain for ex- cursions and international gatherings, and in the 1970s, this alone ensured that the South Tyrol Club became very famous indeed. The most powerful racing car of its day, the Porsche 917/30 Spyder, enjoys its motor racing premiere in May, driven by Mark Donohue. -
Touring Philosophy Is Part of the Porsche Tradition
History Touring philosophy is part of the Porsche tradition In Porsche models, “T” has always stood for Touring, and is synonymous with driving pleasure in a particularly pure form. The first Touring variant appears in autumn 1967 when the 911 T makes its début. As a new basic model in the company’s range of sports cars, it is distinguished by a particularly strong price-performance ratio and a standard equipment configuration that focuses on the essentials, just as the Porsche 912 (with four- cylinder boxer engine) does. Like the 718 T today, the 911 T has an engine capacity of two litres, based on which the six-cylinder boxer engine in the 911 T achieves 110 PS – combined with a weight of just 1,080 kg, the 911 T displays an agile temperament and a top speed of 200 km/h. With manual 4-gear transmission supplied as standard, it is also available in a 5-gear variant. One outstanding sporting success earns this model a special place in Porsche history: More than 50 years ago in 1968, factory drivers Vic Elford and David Stone drove a 180 PS 911 T to victory in the Monte Carlo rally – the first big win for a 911 on the international motorsport stage. 911 Carrera Clubsport: Exclusive lightweight model The 1987 911 Carrera Clubsport also followed the Touring philosophy, with a spartan lightweight version that knows all about stripping back to basics, especially in the interior. Rear seats and electric window switches are absent, along with the automatic heating regulation, passenger sun visor, clothes hooks, and covers for the storage compartments in the doors. -

The Most Famous Porsche Seat Designs
newsroom History Dec 25, 2018 The most famous Porsche seat designs Hollywood fashion stylist, Ilaria Urbanati, rates the best seat patterns from over 70 years of sports car history, together with Ivo van Hulten and Cornelia Rosenbohm from Style Porsche. For the fourth episode of the Top 5 series, Porsche welcomes a guest from the USA: Ilaria Urbanati. She is a fashion stylist from Hollywood, who dresses stars such as Ryan Reynolds, James Marsden and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Together with Ivo van Hulten, Head of the Interior Design Studio in Weissach, and Cornelia Rosenbohm, a Colour and Trim expert for the Design Studio, she presents the Top 5 fancy seat patterns. #5 Porsche 928 Page 1 of 5 The ranking begins with the Porsche 928 with red and white stripes and a special feature on its headrests: the logo by Ferry Porsche. The colour contrast between the fine white lines and the wider burgundy stripes makes this interior a real eye-catcher. The designers of our number five instantly hit the mark with Ilaria, an avowed 80s fan. #4 Porsche 911 (G series) Stripes continue to determine the ranking: in fourth place is a Porsche 911 with pinstripes in maroon and white. This G-Series is the last 3.2-litre 911 ever built, and left the Zuffenhausen factory in 1989. It marks the end of the almost 17-year history of the second 911 generation. The combination of Carrara White Metallic paint finish and pinstripe interior design is a fitting tribute to this finale. #3 Porsche 911 Turbo „Louise“ The “Louise” Turbo, named after Louise Piëch, is not only the first turbo engine in a Carrera body, but also ranked third by our experts. -
