2020 Tera World Championship:

We are very excited and proud to be hosting the RS Tera World Championship in South Africa this year. The 2020 RS Tera World Championship will take place from the 4-9 April 2020 at Pinelake Marina, Swartvlei, Sedgefield.

A total of 60 sailors aged between 10 - 19 years old from South Africa and seven other countries including Zimbabwe, USA, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark and Lithuania will be competing in this event.

This is a fantastic opportunity for all our young South African sailors to participate and experience an international sailing event on their home ground.

2020 J22 World Championships

The highlight of the J22 calendar must be the World Championships, this year being held in Durban, South Africa from Saturday, 27 June 2020 to Friday, 3 July 2020.

We are thrilled to announce that Marriot have come on board as a sponsor. The host club, Point Yacht Club (PYC) in conjunction with the J22 Worlds committee have been working closely since last year on the logistics of the regatta. The documentation is in process with all the necessary controlling bodies and awaiting sanctioning.

The entry fee of R5000 is a minimal increase since the last SA J22 Worlds and will include entry to MSC and the additional benefits of that regatta.

The J22s will have a separately run course as well as their own

• Welcoming party and mixing of the waters celebration • Wet bar on the international walk on jetties with (hopefully) sponsored refreshments directly after sailing • Mid-week party at the new PYC Beach front club site • Our own prizegiving ceremony.

Charter Boats have been secured at a cost of €2000 that will be race ready and in Durban before the start of the regatta. Documentation and Terms and Conditions are available.

Interest has been shown by several international teams and the local South African J22s are excited and committed to being hosts of yet another J22 World Championship.
