Mugello Gara 3: Schumacher Wins but Vesti Is the 2019 Champion Mugello gara 3: Schumacher wins but Vesti is the 2019 Champion The Danish "only fourth" in race 3 secures the 2019 Title with an appointment in advance, while the German makes a perfect race and wins without rivals Mugello, 5 October 2019 - Frederik Vesti (Prema Powerteam) is the 2019 Champion of the Formula Regional European Championship certified by FIA, and with the title he also wins the maximum number of points awarded in this band of championships for FIA Superlicense, a full 25. The Danish driver wins the championship with 12 wins and 17 total podiums. Behind him the battle for second place in the final standings is still open, with team- mate Enzo Fittipaldi, sixth in race 3, who is followed by David Schumacher (US Racing), winner in the last race at Mugello, which is approaching with 265 points against the 306 of the Brazilian, and with still 75 points to be assigned in the last round of Monza. Schumacher makes a good start, but still Vesti does better and immediately manages to attack him. The German resists and, behind, his teammate and fellow countryman Lirim Zendelli manages to attack Vesti and overtake him. Behind them Jake Hughes (KIC Motorsport), Igor Fraga (DR Formula by RP Motorsport) and Enzo Fittipaldi. Meanwhile, a great overtake by Sophia Floersch (Van Amersfoort Racing) on Olli Caldwell (Prema Powerteam). The German driver also tries to overtake her team-mate Dan Ticktum, but is unable to snatch the seventh position from him. Schumacher wins, ahead of Zendeli and Hughes, who attacks and overtakes Vesti in the penultimate lap, perhaps more projected towards the title than the race. • The Third Name of Prema Powerteam in Formula Regional Confirmed
The third name of Prema Powerteam in Formula Regional confirmed Frederik Vesti completes Prema’s Formula Regional European Championship certified by FIA drivers’ line-up Rome, Monday 25 2019 – Prema Powerteam is proud to announce the completion of its roster for the upcoming Formula Regional European Championship with 17-year-old Danish racer Frederik Vesti. Lining-up for the opening season of the brand-new championship, which will bridge the gap between Formula 4 and the new FIA Formula 3 Championship, Vesti is a valuable addition to the team in its effort to get up to speed quickly in a brand-new technical and competitive environment. In his first few seasons in single seaters, Vesti achieved a fair share of success after scoring many impressive results in karting. After making his Formula Ford debut in 2016, he was a runner-up in the Danish Formula 4 Championship the following year while also securing a breakthrough win in the German series. Last season, he took two wins en-route to fourth place in the German Formula 4 Championship. He also scored two wins in the 2018 Italian Formula 4 championship and later stepped up to F3 racing by entering the final round of the European season and the world-famous Macau Grand Prix. Angelo Rosin “Frederik is a very interesting prospect. We kept an eye on him over the last couple of seasons and he always impressed us for his speed and consistency. It is an exciting time for our team, starting a brand-new championship with three talented youngsters. With our hard-working approach and such a promising combination, we are confidently looking forward to the 2019 season as we are facing the new challenge, determined to continue our positive run of form in junior single-seaters.” Frederik Vesti "I am thrilled to join Prema Powerteam and I really think that this move can boost my career.

  • Hughes Clinches Victory Ahead of Lawson in Dramatic Race 2 at Monza
Sunday 6 September 2020 Hughes clinches victory ahead of Lawson in dramatic Race 2 at Monza Sunday’s action in Monza was the type of race which comes around once, maybe twice in a decade. A race so manic, so chaotic, that it’s difficult to make sense of it. Round 8’s FIA Formula 3 Race 2 was that race. Jake Hughes won from sixth, Lawson sealed second from P5 and Pourchaire completed the podium from ninth, but that barely even scratches the surface of the story. None of top three from the grid finished in the points, all three of the PREMAs retired, Alex Smolyar took fourth from 20th, Alex Peroni nabbed sixth from 16th, Pierre-Louis Chovet clinched seventh from 18th for his first F3 points, while Olli Caldwell snuck into the points from P29. At one point, Oscar Piastri was on course to stretch his Championship lead, but a four-car collision forced him to retire and robbed him of points. Logan Sargeant was handed first place in the Drivers’ standings as a result, with the PREMA racer somehow finding himself in fifth having started from 26th. But it proved to be temporary, as the American was also forced to retire after a coming together with teammate Frederik Vesti, which dramatically took them both out of the race. All the while, Hughes calmly stretched his lead out in front, letting the drama play out behind him, keeping his nose clean ahead of Liam Lawson. The duo would close out first and second, with Pourchaire making a late assault on the podium to finish in third place.
