After completing his MSc in Pharmacology, Chuck worked for 15 years as the Director of Marketing for Leo Pharma (in Canada). He subsequently joined the consultancy business, working for healthcare companies in the U.S. and Canada on Previously: medical communications and clinical research programmes. Chuck joined us in 2002, and through the application of his broad industry knowledge, has assisted clients in developing and executing novel education platforms with physicians, pharmacists, trial site staff, patients and internal teams to achieve the desired outcomes.

Chuck has had the pleasure of working with Novo Nordisk A/S clinical operations, medical affairs and marketing teams for more than 14 years. Chuck has provided strategic counsel and conducted speaker training for more than 100 Experience of Investigator/Results Meetings and symposia for Novo Nordisk. Joined AXON: 2003 Throughout his career Ralph has advised many pharmaceutical and medical device companies. He currently oversees our network of companies in Europe and North America. Prior to establishing the international operations of AXON in London, Ralph was the European Healthcare Practice Leader of international public Previously: relations firm Burson-Marsteller. Between 1992 and 1999 Ralph was based with the firm in Australia, working with clients in the healthcare and food industries across Australia and Asia-Pacific. He was appointed Managing Director of the Sydney office in 1995. He originally joined the firm in 1988 as a graduate trainee based in London.

Ralph originally worked in the field of haemophilia in the late ‘80s on issues management relating to infected Experience in blood products. SENIOR PROGRAMME DIRECTION DR BARBARA BYTH, Director, Client Service Joined AXON: 2007 After completing a PhD at the University of Oxford and post-doctoral research at the University of Toronto, Barbara worked in scientific publishing and clinical research management before joining a medical Previously: communications agency. Barbara has led the haemophilia team at AXON since 2007, with projects including strategic Experience in communications, internal education, advisory boards, clinical trials investigator and results meetings, haemophilia: satellite symposia and standalone educational events, including the Haemophilia Academy and EOS Excellence Training Programme.

Daniella has more than 8 years of experience in healthcare consulting and a wealth of knowledge in the development and implementation of comprehensive global recruitment, retention, and educational programmes. These programmes range in therapeutic areas including cardiology, pain, diabetes, and Previously: haemostasis. With a passion for digital communications which has contributed to the expansion of AXON’s service offerings, Daniella’s positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to success are a testament to the values that exemplify the AXON experience. Prior to joining AXON, Daniella worked at Eli Lilly Canada wearing a number of hats including Sales, Marketing, and Training & Development.

JILLIAN JONES, Director Joined AXON: 2017 After completing her BA at Western, Jill worked for over 20 years at IBM Canada as a client executive, learning and development manager, and project manager. Jillian is a certified learning professional focused on the application of adult learning principles in both Experience in classroom and virtual environments. Sarah has over 10 years of experience in clinical trials and medical communications, in a variety of therapeutic areas, such as diabetes, oncology, abuse liability and obesity. Sarah led the teams that worked in the diabetes area on the LEADER programme mid-study meetings, Experience of SUSTAIN Global Panel meetings and the onset™ Phase 3a and 3b programmes. Sarah also has worked working with within the haemophilia development programme for Novo Nordisk (paradigm™ 4 and 5; pathfinder™5; Novo Nordisk: guardian™4, pathfinder™2; the PUP trials, paradigm™6 and pathfinder™6), as the Account Director for both US and EU meetings.

Joined AXON: 2011

Annie has a background in pre-clinical research, education and consultative sales. Equipped with a Bachelor of Medical Sciences in Medical Biophysics and a Master of Sciences in Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Annie Previously: has worked on research programmes investigating various magnetic resonance imaging techniques in lung and multiple sclerosis models.

Beyond diabetes and/or obesity, Annie has also worked on various US and EU meetings for haemophilia (eg, Experience of adept, guardian, explorer, pathfinder, paradigm and STER) and inflammation (eg, rheumatoid arthritis) trials working with as Project Manager. Annie has also supported on the development of patient and HCP materials for post- Novo Nordisk: marketed haemophilia products.

Outside of Novo Nordisk, Annie has overseen the development and review of patient and site recruitment Experience with and retention materials, including content development. Prior to joining us, Caroline completed a BSc degree in Psychology at the University of Toronto. She worked Previously: for over 6 years at a CRO in project management and data management for clinical trials in a wide variety of therapeutic areas, including diabetes, oncology, central nervous system disorders and immunology.

Caroline was the account manager for a recruitment programme for onset® 2, providing comprehensive training and facilitation to Novo Nordisk CRAs and sites in order to boost recruitment. She also has Experience of experience in diabetes data management, medical coding and creating adult education materials for a working with patient retention website. Caroline was the account manager for investigator meetings for REAL® 1, REAL® Novo Nordisk: 2, REAL® 3, adept® 4, NN8828-4004 (Crohn’s disease), BIAsp-4157 and provided recruitment support for NN8226-3612 and onset® 2.

Joined AXON: 2015 Kate completed an MSc in Molecular Genetics at McGill University where her research focused on Previously: identifying tumour suppressor genes. During her graduate studies she also worked as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate biology courses and laboratories. Kate has worked to develop and execute a number of Novo Nordisk Investigator and Results Experience meetings in the area of diabetes. These include meetings for the semaglutide, NovoMix®30, faster working with aspart and Victoza® programmes. She has also worked within the growth hormone development Novo Nordisk: programme for Novo Nordisk.

She has also supported on medical writing with similar mandates including publication summary decks, educational modules and publication critical projects: reviews in the areas of Alzheimer’s disease, oncology, haemophilia and hereditary angioedema.

Megan attended the University of Guelph and is a Dean’s list graduate from Humber College’s Advanced Public Relations Diploma Program. As a part of the premiere program Megan completed a four month internship at LMA Communications Inc. where she was subsequently hired full time as an Previously: account coordinator. During her time at LMA Communications Inc. Megan offered support for a wide range of clients and was the lead consultant for two accounts both of which were award winning hotels. Her transition into an agency that specialized in hospitality and tourism communications came organically with her extensive experience working in the hospitality industry throughout her schooling.

Experience Megan has supported AXON teams on Results Meetings and Investigator Meetings in diabetes, growth working with hormone and haemophilia. She also provided background support on the SUSTAIN 8&9 program. Novo Nordisk:

Jay has over three years combined experience in healthcare communications and medical research, starting his career as a research assistant in the department of Nephrology at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Research Institute. Jay has also provided strategic communications support for a federal initiative, led Previously: by Canada Health Infoway, to accelerate the development, adoption and effective use of digital health solutions across Canada. Jay holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph, majoring in Biomedical Science, in addition to a post-graduate certificate in public relations and corporate communications.

Jay has provided project management and onsite support for several Investigator Meetings with other sponsors conducting global trials. Jay was also responsible for patient recruitment and retention for the Experience Fluid Study Protocol at St. Josephs Healthcare Research Institute, which involved screening many with similar diabetic patients with end stage renal disease undergoing peritoneal dialysis. Jay has provided projects: communications tactics and logistical support for major annual healthcare events across Canada, including: Fall Partnership Conference, eHealth Conference, Advancing Care Peer Leader Symposium.

MEDICAL WRITING DR DAVID JENKINS, Senior Medical Writer Joined AXON: 2015 After completing a PhD in biological sciences at the University of Warwick, David spent over three years in Previously: the editorial department of an international medical marketing agency, followed by four years as a medical writer in an agency specialising in healthcare public relations. Since starting at AXON, David has been the medical writer for NovoSeven® projects, including pre-meeting support, on-site attendance and report preparation for recent lifecycle management advisory board Experience in meetings. Geula has worked on many Novo Nordisk mandates in the past, in the areas of diabetes (eg, , semaglutide, faster-acting aspart), obesity (eg, liraglutide) and hemophilia (eg, NovoSeven, NovoEight) and Growth Hormone (NordiNet). Geula has developed educational modules/training guides, Experience of clinical slide decks, patient portals, scientific platform content, advisory board meeting reports and working with newsletters, systematic literature reviews and reports, resources for the International Diabetes Federation Novo Nordisk: (eg, slide library and patient/physician resources), peer reviewed journal publications (eg, in the areas of PPG regulation, weight maintenance/cycling). She has provided onsite support for advisory meetings featuring leading experts in the field.

Geula has developed articles for scientific publications and created educational and training programs for clinical trials including webinar content, slide kits and online modules. Joined AXON: 2016 At a global pharmaceutical advertising agency, Haydn produced HCP- and patient-targeted advertising for Previously: 19 products and launched four products in the Canadian market.

Since 2016, Haydn continues to work closely with the global Novo Nordisk semaglutide team and their external medical experts to produce numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and congress presentations, including the first cover-manuscript of the September issue of Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism. Experience of working with Haydn also supports the global medical affairs team by developing presentations for the national advisory Novo Nordisk: board as well as medical lounges held at congresses such as the ADA and EASD.

For Novo Nordisk Canada, Haydn develops public relations materials for the media and oversees all regulatory approval requirements both with Novo Nordisk Canada as well as local regulatory agencies.

Haydn has developed numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and congress presentations, including the first cover-manuscript of the September issue of Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism on behalf of Novo Nordisk. Experience with similar projects: Haydn also supports the global medical affairs team by developing presentations for the national advisory board as well as medical lounges held at congresses such as the ADA and EASD.

He has parlayed his skills and experience into strategic leadership, brand stewardship, and award- winning campaigns – while retaining a passion for developing innovative and cutting-edge creative solutions.

Elma’s philosophy is to always push creative, keep it simple, make it beautiful and say something that makes a difference.

Elma has worked within the diabetes space, with a particular focus on diabetes awareness. She has also worked within private and public sector organizations on developing impactful creative strategies to help Experience with drive engagement with key stakeholders and consumers. She is currently leading a large scale project within similar projects: the oncology space where she is undertaking the task of educating the public and engaging with patients living with the disease. Making information more accessible to patients and the public has been the key to her success.

Evan holds an M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Queen’s University, Kingston and a B.Sc. (Honours) in Biochemistry from Western University, London. At Queen’s, Evan investigated biological ice-nucleation Previously: under the supervision of Dr. Peter L. Davies. Evan was also a tutor and teaching assistant for biochemistry and organic chemistry courses during this time. From Western, Evan graduated with distinction while acting as a coordinator for the Biochemistry Volunteers program.

Melissa graduated from McGill University in Montreal, with a BSc in Pharmacology. Upon graduation, she started her career by working for a clinical research organization. As a part of the Medical Writing Previously: department, she focused on quality control of clinical trial documents, in trials ranging from Phases I to III. During her undergraduate studies she also worked as a Teaching Assistant for an undergraduate business-science course.

Melissa has dealt with documents requiring a high level of detail within the clinical research field, and Experience has experience in a variety of therapeutic areas including cardiovascular diseases. Melissa has also with similar assisted in the planning of fundraiser banquets for non-profit organizations, and assisted with the projects: organization of entrepreneurship competitions.

Arik holds an M.Sc. in Business Health from McMaster University, Hamilton and a B.A. (Honours) in Kinesiology from Western University, London. Arik was the Customer Development Consultant at Privit Previously: Inc, a London based software company that allows institutions an online platform to securely collect, manage, and access personal health information. Arik worked as a project manager on various case studies relating to the at the DeGroote School of business.
