Television personality and producer Simon Cowell founded SYCO in conjunction with Sony Music Entertainment Inc. Primarily operating in the United Kingdom and the United States, SYCO Entertainment establishes partnerships with Sony Music Entertainment Inc. labels and television production companies to manage music and television brands. Syco TV SYCO TV manages franchises such as “The X Factor,” a singing talent television show launched in the United Kingdom in 2004, and “Got Talent,” an internationally successful talent show. “The X Factor” is produced in 41 countries including the United States, Indonesia, and Australia. “The X Factor” has discovered music artists such as One Direction, Fifth Harmony, and Cher Lloyd. “Got Talent” launched in the United States in 2006 and is now produced in 60 countries, making “Got Talent” the most successful television format in the world. Additionally, SYCO has partnered with YouTube for the first global online audition process known as “The You Generation.” The YouTube channel was launched in March 2013 and is available in 26 countries. Syco Music SYCO Music is the record label by SYCO Entertainment, partnered with Sony Music Entertainment Inc. SYCO Music has the privilege of signing winners and finalists of “The X Factor” and “Got Talent.” Originally based in London, SYCO Music has primarily English artists, including Leona Lewis, Olly Murs, and Little Mix. SYCO Music has also established relationships with other Sony Entertainment Inc. labels such as Columbia Records, RCA Records and Epic Records. From 2004 to 2009, SYCO Music has achieved 13 number-one albums. From 2004 to present, the label has had 22 number one singles in the United Kingdom, including “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis. As of December 2013, 26 artists are signed to SYCO Music, including the internationally known boy band One Direction. SYCO Entertainment has offices in London and Los Angeles and employs more than 50 people. Charles Garland is Global CEO of SYCO Entertainment and is responsible for the company’s daily operation. Sir Philip Green and Karren Brady serve as advisors to SYCO Entertainment. Since 2002, SYCO Entertainment has been largely successful in its endeavors, producing music for high-profile artists and managing two internationally known reality television shows. .
