NATIONAL EMERGENCY OPERATION CENTER TROPICAL CYCLONE WINSTON SITUATION REPORT 40 of 29/02/2016 The purpose of this report is to provide the update on the current operations undertaken after TC Winston. This Situation Report is issued by the National Emergency Operation Centre and covers the period from 0800 hours to 1600hours on 29/02/2016. Elsewhere, fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers. Moderate to fresh southeast winds. Moderate to rough seas. Outlook for Wednesday: Some showers over the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands. Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers elsewhere. Outlook for Wednesday: Brief showers. 2.2 TROPICAL CYCLONE 3 - DAY OUTLOOK Equator to 25S and 160E to 120W Issue Time:0400 UTC Monday29th February2016 Issued By: Tropical Cyclone Centre, RSMC, Nadi Existing Tropical Cyclones: Nil Likelihood of a tropical cyclone in the region in each of the next three days, TILL 03rd March, 2016: Tropical Disturbance TD12F was located near 15.9S 152.0W at 3pm today. It is gradually intensifying and moving southwards. Position Poor.Tuesday1stMarchTD12F is expected to lie in the region near Tahiti. The probability of TD12F forming into a tropical cyclone is MODERATE . The potential for another tropical cyclone formation in the region is VERY LOW. 3.0 DIVISIONAL UPDATES 3.1 CENTRAL DIVISION Highlights: Ration distributions commenced for the Namena district this afternoon. Water restoration from Vuma to Draiba village and communication is being restored by installation of VT Sat. Only 4 villages under the rural water scheme have yet to have water restored due to broken pipelines. Most villages on the island have received food rations. No written records 3 received for Moturiki Island. The figure above is the corrected figure. 3.3 WESTERN DIVISION Highlights: Burelevu to Namara Bridge is now opened to 4x4 vehicles. This includes 4 access to Burelevu, Nasau, Nasukamai, Nauria. Received SIT REP for MOH highlighting the following: Macuata/Bua School 6 survey report and School population capture sheet report Page French CASA delivered following consignment to Labasa totalling 3.5tons : 73 carton of c/mutton 51 bags of 45kg rice One C 130 Hercules delivered with 50 Tents and 50 sheltered Kits to Taveuni. CTM 1161 French CASA delivered 44bags X 45kg rice to Matei. Spray of stagnant waters around Savusavu and Cakaudrove will commence 01 March 2016. Evacuees at Wairiki Primary School have been relocated to another ECE Kindergarten Hall.
