Maureen C. Brown ~ Biography As a singer, dancer, choreographer, teacher, and voice over and recording artist Maureen Brown has performed in theatre, television, radio, videos, and concerts in the United States and around the world. Maureen’s television credits include singing with opera celebrity Paul Potts (winner of England’s Britain’s Got Talent) on Fox & Friends, NBC’s The Today Show, and New York WPIX-TV Channel 11.She has performed on the MTV Awards, Billboard Awards, Cosby Show, Arsenio Hall Show, Dave Chapelle Show, and All My Children’s 35th Anniversary. In theatre, Maureen has performed in the successful West Coast tour of Dreamgirls, Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), European tour of Bubblin’ Brown Sugar, the national tour of The Wiz (with Stephanie Mills), Harlem Suite (with Jennifer Holliday and Maurice Hines), Radio City Music Hall’s The Christmas Spectacular (NYC), Red Hot Broadway (Prince Theatre, PA), Salute to the Best of Broadway (Harrah’s Casino, Lake Tahoe, Nevada) and world-wide tour with C&C Music Factory. As a voice over and recording artist, Maureen sang in the audio recordings Introducing Capathia and Dreamgirls and can be heard on radio and TV public service announcements, music promotions and comedy skits for Ed Lover (former MTV VJ and radio personality on NYC’s Hip-Hop Radio Power 105.1 FM), Kids 4 Kids (non-profit for foster, low income and homeless kids), Donald Trump’s Apprentice, and Dick Clark and Nick Verbitsky’s United Networks Radio Stations (the largest independently owned and operated radio network in America, partnering with Bloomberg Radio and Univision Radio), among others. Maureen’s teaching repertoire includes beginner through advanced levels of jazz, hip-hop, ballet, tap, lyrical, pointe, musical theatre, as well as specialty classes for technique, class and performance etiquette, stretch and flex, and jumps and turns. As a choreographer and teacher, Maureen has worked with aspiring dancers and singers internationally, including Luxembourg’s Ecole De Ballet, the opening ceremony for the Luxembourg Women’s International Tennis Championship, “Planet X” fashion show, the closing ceremony for the European Elite People in Sports Awards Show. She has also collaborated with renowned Artistic Directors and Choreographers such as Jimmy Locust, Frances Patrelli, Barbara Klein. Maureen has taught in numerous schools including Stamford Performing Arts Center (CT), The Dance Connection Morris County Academy of Dance, Inc. (NY), Bronx Dance Theatre (NY), Performing Arts Academy (NY), USDAN School of Performing Arts (NY). Stagelite Centre of Performing Arts (PA), Miss Barbara’s School of Dance (PA), Dance Education Unlimited (NJ), and Cathy Taylor School of Dance (MA). Maureen’s proficiency in dance, voice and theatre, has earned her a reputation as a judge for the American Dance Awards, Dynamite National Talent Competition, StarQuest International Talent Competition, Dance Masters of America, Showstoppers Talent Competition, On Stage America and Starbound. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Maureen has received extensive training in dance, acting and voice with teachers including re-known composer/author/pianist/vocal coach Timothy Graphenreed (who served as an arranger/coach for celebrities including Tony-award winners LaChanze, Lillias White, Hinton Battle, and Adriane Lenox), vocal coach Mary Rogers, Broadway Dance Center, Dance Theatre of Harlem, SAG Conservatory (NYC), and acting workshops with Marishka Phillips (Broadway/film/TV/Theatre artist). Maureen is involved in her community devoting her time as a choreographer for musicals in Stamford, CT, public schools as well as a volunteer for New York Cares and the NY Mariner’s Temple. She is an active member of the Actors’ Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Radio and Television Artists and American Guild of Variety Artists. .
