OTACI CITY Otaci is a town in Ocnita Districtlying along the Dniester River at the northeastern border of Moldova with Ukraine. Otaci has a population of 9 thousand inhabitants. The total population of Ocnita District is 52.7 thousand inhabitants. Otaci town is an important transport hub of international road and railway routes connecting Moldva with Ukraine. On the opposite side of the Dniester lies the Ukrainian city of Mohyliv-Podilskyi. The two cities are connected with railway road and bridges over the river. The main economic activities of the district are manufacturing and agriculture. The manufacturing sector is represented by areas such as furniture, apparel and construction materials production. The agro-industrial sector is represented by vegetable oils and alchohol production.
