BRIEF DESCRIPTION of the PROJECT Sun Minerals BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT Sun Minerals & Chemicals is a private company headquartered in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu and has 20 years of experience in Mining. Sun Minerals & Chemicals has mine lease area for the production of Magnesite & Dunite in an area of 1.62.0 Ha at S.F. No. Unsurveyed Block 1(Part) of Naraikinar Village, Rasipuram Taluk, Namakkal District, Tamil Nadu. The Mining Lease was granted for 47.97 Acres in Naraikinar R.L. Block-I, Tholur etc., villages, Rasipuram Taluk, Namakkal District in G.O.Ms.No.1575, Industries Department dated 15.12.76 for a period of ten years. The lease was executed on 11.08.1977 and same expired on 10.08.1987. Out of a total area of 47.97 acres, the firm has applied for renewal of mining lease over an extent of 11.00 Acres only. Out of a 11.00 Acres, 7.00 Acres fall in Forest Revenue Land and 4.00 Acres fall in Unsurveyed block of Naraikinar Village, Rasipuram Taluk, Namakkal District. The Sun Mineral and Chemicals was granted renewal of mining lease in letter No.G.O3(D) no.57, Industries (MMD-1) Department, dated 27.03.1997 for Soapstone and Magnesite over an extent of 4.00 Acres in Naraikinar Village, Rasipuram Taluk, Namakkal District for a period of twenty years Effect from 11.08.1987. The lease period expired on 10.08.2007. The Lessee preferred an application for Second Renewal of the lease has already been submitted to the State Government on 02.01.2006 for Magnesite and Dunite Mineral for the period of 20 years from 11.08.2007. At present mine workings carried out based on the Deemed Extension. The Mining Plan for Renewal of lease was approved by Indian Bureau of Mines in letter No.TN/SLM/MP/Mg/MDS-322 dated 22.03.1990. The Ist Scheme of Mining was approved by Indian Bureau of Mines in letter No.TN/NMK/Mg/MS-221 Mds dated 05.07.2004. The 2nd Scheme of Mining was approved by Indian Bureau of Mines in letter No.TN/NMK/Mg/MS-537 Mds dated 26.11.2009. The Review of Mining Plan was approved by Indian Bureau of Mines in letter No.TN/NMK/Mg/ROMP-1466 Mds dated 28.12.2017.     DISTRICT SURVEY REPORT OF NAMAKKAL DISTRICT PREFACE In Compliance to the Notification Issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change Dated 15.01.2016, the preparation of District survey report of minor minerals is in accordance appendix 10 of the notification. It is also mentioned here that the procedure of preparation of District Survey Report is as per notification guidelines. Every effort have been made to cover mining locations, areas & overview of Mining activity in the district with all its relevant features pertaining to geology & mineral wealth in replenishable and non- replenishable areas. This report will be a model and guiding document which is a compendium of available mineral resources, geographical set up, environmental and ecological set up of the District and is based on data of various departments, published reports and websites. The data may vary due to flood, heavy rains and other natural cliamities. Therefore, it is recommended that Sub Divisional Level Committee may take into consideration all its relevant aspects / data while scrutinizing and recommending the application for EC to the concerned Authority. SURVEY REPORT OF NAMAKKAL DISTRICT As per Gazette notification of 15th January 2016 of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change a Survey shall be carried out by the District Environment Impact Assessment Authority (DEIAA) with assistance of irrigation department, Drainage department, Forest department, Mining department and Revenue department in the district for preparation of District Survey Report as per the sustainable Miner mineral mining guidelines to ensure identification of areas of aggradations or deposition where mining can be allowed; and identification of areas of erosion and proximity to infrastructural structures and installations where mining should be prohibited and calculation of annual rate of replenishment and allowing time for replenishment after mining in that area.
