ORDINANCE NO. 012-145 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH CHICAGO PUBLIC MEDIA, INC. FOR THE PLACEMENT OF CUSTOMER OUTREACH RADIO ADVERTISING AND AMENDING ORDINANCE 012-106

WHEREAS, On August 8, 2012, the Chicago Transit Board adopted Ordinance 012-106, which authorized entry into contracts for advertising with fifteen selected radio stations to provide customer information on upcoming Chicago Transit Authority (“Authority”) projects, programs and initiatives; and

WHEREAS, Staff recommends that the Authority also contract with Chicago Public Media, Inc. for the placement of customer outreach advertising on its radio station WBEZ FM because of the large market reached by the radio station; and

WHEREAS, the addition of another radio station to the approved list for Authority advertising will not increase the advertising cost since services are used on an as-needed basis; now, therefore:

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CHICAGO TRANSIT BOARD OF THE CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY:

SECTION 1. The Transit Board hereby approves entry into a contract for advertising on an as-needed basis with Chicago Public Media, Inc. and authorizes the President, or his designee, to execute such a contract.

SECTION 2. The list of authorized radio stations for the placement of Authority advertising is amended to include WBEZ FM, as shown on Exhibit A-1 hereto.

SECTION 3. Ordinance 012-106 remains in full force and effect in all other respects.

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
