One year into my role as Chairman, I look back to reflect for a Richard Thomas Advertising moment on the past twelve months. Cousin I R ........................................................5 Ahead of the EU Referendum I felt that the vote was without doubt the biggest political decision Harrison & Hetherington ...............................IFC in anybody’s career in agriculture, and the political fallout that we have subsequently seen certainly shows that. Hutchinson W M & Sons ................................19 McKillop A & D .............................................BC We all recognised at the time the vote was deeply contentious, and that certainly proved to be the case at our AGM, where even our president Mr James Porter and Mr Jack Lawson could not Marston N ....................................................BC agree if it was it better to be “In” or “Out” of Europe. This is the beauty of your President Elect/Council members – they have been appointed to represent you, and to have a voice in influencing what our Blueface members are wanting and thinking. One point that has been highlighted is the exceptional quality of sheep present at our Autumn sales, and this is reflected in some of the high prices achieved. On that note, our Council have taken the decision, and to give a very clear message to our members that for next year our inspectors will be committed to improving the standards expected of us as pedigree sheep breeders. Whether our Association plans are ambitious or imaginative, nothing must be off the table, so by working together we can turn our ambitions into reality and shape the breed into a new and dynamic future.
