GLAMOUR NAMES ASHLEY PARKER NEW WASHINGTON, D.C., CONTRIBUTOR
New York City—June 8, 2017—Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive announced today that Washington Post White House reporter Ashley Parker has been named contributing editor, covering Washington, D.C., and politics for Glamour. Building on the brand’s long history of political coverage, Parker will be responsible for bringing top politicians and coverage of important policy issues to Glamour’s pages and digital platforms.
“Ashley is perfect for this role because she’s both a tireless reporter with a knack for engaging coverage and a Glamour woman herself—interested in looking at politics from the point of view of her own peer group,” said Leive. “At this time when what’s happening in politics is moving so quickly, her experience on the ground in Washington will be instrumental in our effort to keep Glamour readers informed about political players and policies that impact them so directly.”
Parker, who has contributed to Glamour since 2015, is currently a White House reporter for The Washington Post, which she joined earlier this year. Prior to her time at The Washington Post, Parker spent 11 years at The New York Times, covering the 2012 and 2016 presidential campaigns and Congress, among other topics. She began her career at The New York Times in 2005, as Maureen Dowd’s research assistant. Parker has also written for The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Chicago magazine, The HuffPost, and The Washingtonian, and her photos have appeared in Vanity Fair. Parker grew up in Bethesda, Maryland, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005.
