It’s been British science week and what a fantastic time this has been. There was awe and wonder to start the week with Agata demonstrating her science skills in assembly. Next week we’ll have a science edition newsletter. Chill Project We had an amazing response from years 2,3 and 4 for the Chill project with over 50 children taking part. We had a room full of scientists measuring their lung capacity and fitting them with machines that measure their exercise across the week. They are taking part in some real research which will help the politicians judge whether the lower emissions zone impacts on children’s health. We were joined on Monday by the BBC and a film crew from the One Show. They will let us know what day it will be shown. Year 2 have been working with Arts Admin who are based in Toynbee Hall and are going to be putting on their own art exhibition in a gallery on Brick Lane in the summer. They have been working with some artists this week gathering tiny, tiny pieces that have left behind in all sorts of places. They have been rummaging in St Botolph’s church, Gardiners paper bag shop, the Whitechapel art gallery and the Brady Centre. Next week they start to make some miniature sculptures with the artists. Swimming Rhino class have started their two-week period of intensive swimming lessons. Already the children have grown in confidence in the water. A big thank you to all the parents who have accompanied us, we couldn’t have managed without you. Remember you can sign your child up to swimming lessons at the swimming pools in Tower Hamlets or even the Olympic pool at Stratford.
