2020 Turfgrass Internship 2020 Turfgrass Internship Course: Baltusrol Golf Club Springfield, NJ (20 miles west of New York City) Course Info: Baltusrol Golf Club is a private 36-hole championship golf course. The Lower and Upper golf courses are top-100 courses, that has hosted 16 USGA National Championships, the 2005 and 2016 PGA Championship and most recently the 2018 USGA Junior Amateur. **Originally designed by A.W. Tillinghast, Baltusrol will be restoring the Lower golf club to its original design this summer, that will include, but not limited to, rebuilding greens to USGA specs with precision air, redoing all the bunkers, rebuilding tees, adding drainage to fairways and rough, and installation of a new irrigation system** Opportunities: The interns will have the opportunity to work with the Director of Grounds and Superintendents on an internship program to meet their needs. This program will include, not be limited to the following activities: • IPM monitoring, Pesticide/Fertilizer calibration and application • Opportunity to obtain New Jersey Pesticide Applicators License • Syringing and use of Toro and Rainbird Irrigation system. • Golf course daily set up • Sprinkler installation • Drainage installation • Equipment use management • Be involved in the restoration of the Lower course Requirements: Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year Turf Management program Wage & Benefits: $13.00 per hour with opportunities for overtime at time and a half Housing provided Golfing privileges as time permits Meals provided except Mondays when clubhouse is closed Cable TV and high speed Internet access Contact: Greg Boring, Director Of Grounds 201 Shunpike Rd Springfield, NJ 07081 Phone: (973)-376-1933 Email: [email protected] .

Golf has been played over the grounds at Baltusrol for twelve decades, first on a rudimentary nine-hole course, then on the “Old Course” of 1895, and now on the Lower and Upper Courses, designed and built by A.W.
