Doris J. (Jeannie) McDaniel-Pappas, a Florida native and student in Eckerd College’s Program for Experienced Learners, donated this collection of postcards and brochures to the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library on 30 July 2007. Jeannie and her husband, Andrew M. Pappas Sr., collected these items during their family vacations. Materials cover locations in St. Petersburg, greater Pinellas County, other parts of Florida (with a strong emphasis on the /Key West, and some locations outside of Florida (most notably the Bahamas). Most of the materials date from the mid-1970s into the early to mid-1980s.

Preservation Note

The materials in this collection occupy three acid-free folders in one document box. While preservation measures may slow the physical deterioration of such items, these steps cannot prevent damage from occurring. To prevent further damage to the fragile materials in this collection, avoid exposing them to light for an extended period of time. Please report any damage so that library staff may take appropriate preservation or conservation measures. Protective gloves should be worn when handling all brittle or damaged items. No restrictions limit access to this collection. Patrons using this collection must adhere to copyright and fair-use guidelines and provide proper citation of sources appearing in their research.
