(4) Hollywood East Studios (5) Hollywood East Film Festival (6) Hollywood East University In association with: Hollywood Arts Council www.hollywoodartscouncil.org Hollywood Chamber of Commerce www.hollywoodchamber.net Hollywood EAST Concept The Hollywood Sign and the Hollywood Walk of Fame are two of the most recognized icons in the world – evoking thoughts and memories of Hollywood movies, celebrities and sunny California. The trademarks have long been used in movies & television, advertisements and promotions, as well as an expansive souvenir collectibles. This a new business opportunity applying strategic and creative brand licensing be extending the Hollywood brand into new product categories. Hollywood is a brand that consumers immediately know and trust. Page 3 of 9 2017 Executive Summary The proposal is for a state-of-the-art, earth friendly technology campus that will enable the convergence of companies to migrate into the content and media space. A flexible mixed‐ use component will serve as hospitality, conference, and corporate space, as well as having diverse media related production and post-production capabilities that will handle short and long term needs of tenants. Tenants will include television, motion picture and various types of digital media companies. When completed, the tenants of the technology campus will employ over 2,000 skilled professionals, which will result in generating significant residual long term direct and indirect economic benefits through the creation of new permanent sustainable employment without displacing existing people in the local labor market. The opportunity identified by the Company comprises an investment in a mixed use real estate development and provision of ancillary services, tours, special events and other revenues streams associated with the operation of a full service destination resort. The Technology and Conference Center are the engines that will feed much of the demand for the world-class lodging and related creature comforts. The Company intends to add components into its Technology mix and fill the market need for facilities and services related to digital media production. As a leading‐edge technology center, the Company’s target clients and tenants will be major technology and research companies as well film, television, and commercial productions. This facility will give the East its first concentrated independent technology campus that cultivates new ideas and partnering that can also service independent, full-•‐service film and television production offering everything the targeted client needs, from pre‐production to post- Page 4 of 9 2017 production services. The Company is dedicated to world-class excellence in services across all platforms of activity. Office Buildings The Configuration of this district will be buildings similar to Taipei World Trade Centre, including office block, multi‐functional Convention Center, Exhibition Center, luxury Hotel and Art Gallery. Page 5 of 9 2017 Sound Stages and Open Conference Space State-of-the-art dual purpose soundstages with offices, editing and storage space will be constructed. Separate building will also house space for screening rooms. This will allow for several simultaneous events including conference or film, television, and commercial productions. Each user will have the ability to control light and sound and continue work in any weather. With ease of use built into the design, these rooms, if used by a filmmaker, will connect them directly to spacious production offices, edit rooms, dressing rooms, and large storage areas. Page 6 of 9 2017 Post Production and Technical Center A center with comprehensive editing facilities will round out the long-term and short-term user’s experience and options by providing onsite resources to allow him/her to finish projects without interruption of workflow. These facilities will enable post-production processes, mixing, recording, and digital intermediates, on the most widely used and accepted equipment and screening in a variety of room sizes and formats. In addition, a green data center will manage and support processes, financial and operational transactions, network communications, and building automation. This centralized data center will provide unprecedented environmental, operational, and financial efficiencies that will enable users using sound and motion to express their creative work while responsibly stewarding resources. Exterior Sets The campus will include approximately 2 hectares of exterior sets laid out on different streets. These exterior sets can be transformed into the streets of Paris, Rome, Los Angeles, New York, Beverly Hills, or any other city in the world an entertainment professional would like to capture. To put this into context, the exterior sets will be approximately the same size as Paramount Studios in California. These sets are not only used to film motion pictures, Page 7 of 9 2017 television and commercials but are also play a pivotal role as part of special events and tour components. Theatres A theatres will serve as an ideal location for movie premieres, major screenings, corporate, conference meetings and special events. The theater will be fitted with a 3D theater/ride component which allows the ability to program multiple admission events on a daily basis. Commissary and Café Located in close proximity to the professional office buildings and the theatre, will be a 300 seat Studio commissary. Additionally, a 50 seat café and convenience store will be constructed among the sound stages. Page 8 of 9 2017 Studio Village A full service, minimum 5,574 m. village center is projected to be a destination location to include shops, upscale restaurants catering to diverse culinary tastes as well as an after dinner crowd and nightlife, other convenient food and beverage alternatives, and other retail establishments accessible to residents, visitors and those working at the Studio. Visitor’s Center The interactive visitor’s center is projected to provide visitors and locals with attraction tickets and tours, hotel reservations, foreign currency exchange, dining and nightlife recommendations, driving directions, and vacation planning assistance.
