Apps, settings and files can all be found on the Start Menu. Customise your Start Menu by pinning apps and programs, or moving and regrouping tiles. If you need more space, resize the Start Menu. The Start Menu Resize the Start Menu by dragging the corner/sides to the size you want. The Start Menu The Account, Settings and Power buttons are to the far left of the Start Menu. The Start Menu Click the Account icon to change account settings, lock the screen, or sign out. The Start Menu Find all your programs and applications Click thein theSettings application icon to list. access the settings. More about settings later. Double click a letter to quickly access another part of the list. The Start Menu Click the Power icon to perform standard shutdown, restart and sleep functions. The Start Menu Start typing to search for apps, files and settings. Click the search box to see an example. The Start Menu Matching results for your search are returned. The Start Menu Click on the arrow to expand the application list. The Start Menu The tiles are fully customisable. You can pin, resize, position and group tiles to suit the way you like to work. The Start Menu Right click on an application to pin the application to the Start Menu or the Taskbar. The Start Menu Notepad is now pinned to the Start Menu. Options to resize or unpin the tile are available. The Start Menu Reposition a tile by simply dragging it to the new position. The Start Menu If you hover directly above a group of tiles, an option to Name group will appear. The Start Menu Enter a new name for the group. The Taskbar Pin frequently used applications to the Taskbar by right clicking and selecting the relevant option or simply by dragging it to the Taskbar. The Taskbar Notepad is now pinned to the Taskbar. The Taskbar Right click on the Taskbar to open this list of options. Task View Select the Show Task View button option. Task View Use Task View to work with multiple virtual desktops and navigate easily between each. Managing Multiple Windows Drag a window onto an edge or corner of your screen to arrange up to four windows on your screen at the same time using the Snap Assist feature. Other windows shrink to a large thumbnail. TIP: You could also use the Alt+tab keyboard shortcut to switch between windows. Managing Multiple Windows If using a touch screen, use your finger to touch the title bar and drag it onto an edge or corner of your screen. The Action Centre Use the Action Centre to view system notifications and quickly access various settings. e.g. set Quiet hours to work undisturbed. Settings Find all your programs and applications Click onin thethe Settingsapplication icon list. to access the settings. Double click a letter to quickly access another part of the list. Settings Use this button to access the settings Click on any of the settings to change the preferences for those settings. Settings E.g. Clicking on the System icon opens a list of options which you can customise to suit the way you like to work. Settings Alternatively, enter a keyword into the search field to find the setting you are looking for. File Explorer Access File Explorer from your taskbar or Start Menu. Or, type ‘File Explorer’ in to Search Windows then click on the application to open it, or right click to pin it to your taskbar or the Start Menu, or both. File Explorer When you open File Explorer you will land in Quick Access. Your frequently used folders and recently used files are listed and you can pin your favourite folders here. File Explorer My Computer is now called This PC. File Explorer When you click on any of your documents saved in File Explorer, you will see 4 key tabs: File, Home, Share and View The File tab will present the window above and also allows you to see a list of frequently visited files. File Explorer Manage and arrange files with the Home tab. Share files directly from File Explorer. Change the look of the folder structure to suit you with the View tab.
