This year DIRECTORS & we are excited to present four incredible shows, all exploring STAFF relationships and the complex humans that experience them: the story of acceptance, progress, and equality in the city of Baltimore PRESIDENT and the relationships these lessons bring about; the relationship between an aging donut maker and his younger protégé; the Jolene Vettese relationships that teens experience as they make the transition from child to adult; and the relationships a plucky orphan discovers VICE PRESIDENT in depression era New York City. RCP won 13 Washington Area Theater Community Honors (WATCH) awards and MEMBER AT LARGE was nominated for 37 for our 2017 productions, so we must be Rich Farella doing something right! This is her first performance with RCP and hopefully not her last. She has done many productions, Hairspray and all her shows at Kettle Run High School being among her favorites. When she’s not on stage, Sierra enjoys sleeping on the floor in the middle of the day and/or eating. She’d like to thank the directors for giving her this opportunity, her castmates for being phenomenal to work with, and her family for putting up with her for all these years.

Richard Bird (Wilbur Turnblad) has been busy with shows for RCP over the last 8 or 9 years because this is a great group of people. Richard has done a lot of set building and sound for shows, most recently for Aida, but it’s been too long since he’s been on stage. Previous shows include, Trip to Bountiful, August: Osage County, and 33 Variations. All great shows, but it will be nice to be in a show where nobody dies. Rich is very excited to be part of the cast for Hairspray! This will be his first musical for RCP, in fact, it will be the first time he’s been in the cast of a musical ever. He’s excited, nervous, and happy about all the positive energy this show and this cast bring to the stage.

Kurtis Carter (Fender) is thrilled to be in his first production with RCP. Throughout the years, Kurtis has performed all around the DC area. Some of his favorite productions include Anything Goes, Legally Blonde, Dames At Sea, Urinetown, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Children Of Eden, The Scarlet Pimpernel and Seussical. Kurtis would like to thank everyone at RCP from the staff, designers, creative team, cast, crew, band, stage management and producers for being so welcoming, professional, and passionate throughout this whole process. Everything seen onstage is truly the result of a collective love of the theatre. Kurtis would also like to thank the audience for coming out and supporting community theatre at it’s best.

Teryn Cuozzo (Tammy) is very excited to make her RCP debut in Hairspray. Teryn has recently played Ousier in her high school’s production of Steel Magnolias, Scuttle in The Little Mermaid and Pinocchio in Shrek. She would like to thank the cast and crew as well as her family for making this experience wonderful.

Khyrin DeBose (Gilbert) is excited to be a part of his first RCP show. You may have seen previous Rambunctious Theatre Co. shows such as Spamalot (Ensemble) and Pippin (Ensemble) as well as Summer Theatre Programs Newsies (Jack Kelly). Khyrin would like to thank his wonderful family, loving girlfriend Elena, and the boys of Robinson - they know who they are. He hopes you enjoy the show!!!

Steven Eckloff(Brad) is a sophomore at Robinson Secondary and is so excited to be in his first show with RCP. He most recently performed with CFTC in Footloose (ensemble). Steven has also been ensemble for CFTC shows The Music Man and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. At Robinson Secondary, he played Young Simba in Lion King Jr., Peter Pan in Peter Pan Jr., and Prince Herbert in Monty Python’s Spamalot. He would like to thank Erich, Kirsten, the cast and crew of Hairspray, and his family and friends for all their support in his love of musical theater.

Madalyn Farmer (Lou Ann) is appearing in her second production with RCP. She was last seen in Aida. She is excited to be in this production with so many amazing and talented people. Her favorite roles have been Ruthie in Bat Boy (PWLT) and Logainne in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (FCT). Shout out to my family and friends for being supportive. I love you!

11 Aliya Gardner (Lorraine) is excited to be back on the stage with RCP! She has had leading roles in productions such as John and Jen and The Spitfire Grill, as well as RCP’s Aida. Aliya just recently returned from New Hampshire to be a guest artist in a production of Hairspray so she is ecstatic to be able to be in one of her favorite musicals once again!

Eva Gary (Penny Pingleton) is ecstatic to perform in her first RCP show! She recently played Urleen in CFTC’s Footloose. Other CFTC musicals include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Judah’s Wife), The Music Man (Zaneeta), and Hairspray (Jane). Eva performed with Synetic Theater’s teen ensemble in Hamlet (Ophelia), Romeo and Juliet (Juliet), and Taming of the Shrew (Bianca), and in LTA’s A Christmas Carol (Belle). She would like to say thank you to the overwhelmingly talented people who made Hairspray happen, and to her family!

Amy Griffin (Prudy Pingleton/Gym Teacher/Matron) is thrilled to return to RCP for Hairspray! She previously played Mrs Bumbrake in last season’s Peter and the Starcatcher and most recently was Vi Moore in CFTC’s Footloose. Prior local credits include An Ideal Husband (Mrs. Cheveley), Twelfth Night (Olivia) and Educating Rita (Rita). When she is not onstage she enjoys tea time, traveling and board games. Thanks to Mom for her constant support and her friends for coming to see this incredible show.

Hunter Gross (IQ) was raised in New Jersey and grew up performing in over 65 productions most frequently with the Young Performers’ Workshop. Favorite roles include Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Raul in The Phantom of the Opera, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Anthony in Sweeney Todd, and the King in The King and I. He was also a long-time cast member of Count to Ten, featured in the 2009 New York Musical Theatre Festival. He is grateful to RCP for this opportunity and extends a special thanks to his long-time director and dance teacher Michael Blevins.

Khanner Hancock (Judine/Dynamite #1) is an arts enrichment educator and University of Kentucky graduate student, thrilled to join the Hairspray cast! This DC Metropolitan native began performing across the nation’s capital at the age of nine with the Washington Performing Arts’ Children of the Gospel. She has experienced several unparalleled opportunities to perform with artists ranging from Tye Tribbett to Dame Kiri Te Kanawa on various platforms including the National Cathedral and the Inauguration of our 44th President of the United States. Prior to making her RCP debut with this production, Khanner attended Hampton University where she earned a B.A. in Music Performance and a warm introduction to theater. There she was recognized as Best Supporting Actor in her first production role as Crystal inLittle Shop of Horrors. Khanner is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity and strives to let her life do the singing.

Bruni Herring (Motormouth Maybelle) is a Spanish teacher at Fairfax High School who spends her free time performing whenever possible. She is a proud graduate of the “Fame”, LaGuardia High School of Music and Art in New York City where she studied vocal music. She holds a degree in Speech Communications and Drama from Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY. Bruni is so excited to be working again at RCP with Erich DiCenzo and Kirsten Boyd as she reprises her role as Motormouth Maybelle. Bruni most recently appeared in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator, CFTC) and Rock of Ages (Justice Charlier, RCP)

Wayne Jacques (Harriman F. Spritzer/Principal/Mr. Pinky/Guard) is excited to be returning to the RCP stage for the second time this year. He was last seen as Pirate Bill Slank in Peter and the Starcatcher. His past roles have been in Rehearsal for Murder (RCP), 12 Angry Men (FCT), The Elephant Man (TFT), and Fifth of July (CCT). Many thanks to his friends and family for all their support and much love to his wife, Colleen. Tatiane Jones (Shayna/Dynamite #3) is a senior at Fairfax HS. You may have seen her recently in FX Player’s Disney’s The Little Mermaid. She would like to thank Mr. Replogle for kicking her out of the nest, the Creative Team for giving her this opportunity, the CommonApp for stressing her out, and her parents for making her flawless. Enjoy the show!!

Ashley Kaplan (Shelley) is beyond excited to be returning to RCP after appearing in Thoroughly Modern Millie in the spring! Other recent credits include Legally Blonde (LTA) and Anything Goes (LTA). Ashley also performs with the Artistic Rhythms Alliance tap company in Washington, DC. When not on stage, she works as a clinical psychologist in Vienna, Virginia. Thank you to her friends and family for their endless support!

Evie Korovesis (Brenda) is thrilled and honored to be back on the RCP stage after last seen as Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie last season. Her most recent credits include Regina in Rock of Ages (RCP) June in Gypsy (RCP), Gingy in Shrek (RCP), Julia in The Wedding Singer (TAP), and Kira in (RCP). She is a music teacher in FCPS, a musical theater teacher with Imagination Stage and also teaches private piano lessons. Thanks to Erich and Kirsten for the direction on stage and the friendship off stage. Thanks to family and friends for your endless support and love, especially Mom and Dad. Grandma and Pap-Pap this is for you; thanks for always holding my hand.

Katie Kramer (Velma Von Tussle) is thrilled to make her RCP debut in Hairspray! Upon graduating from Christopher Newport University's Theatre department in 2011, Katie moved to Florida where she stayed for over 6 years. While in the sunshine state, Katie performed on numerous stages ranging from Universal Orlando to Capone's Dinner Theatre to SAK Comedy Club's SAK University improv program. Most recently, Katie made her DC theatre debut in the CapitalFRINGE festival. Katie would like to thank her family and friends for their love and support, the cast and crew of Hairspray for bringing to life this AMAZING show and lastly, would like to dedicate her performance to her late mentor and former choir teacher at SBHS, Debbie Settle.

Maura Lacy (Amber Von Tussle) is delighted to be back on the RCP stage! When not playing an egotistical, racist brat, Maura can be found eating cupcakes, planning her next overseas adventure, or channeling Mary Poppins in her current gig as a nanny. She has had the pleasure of working in professional theatres in Maryland, Georgia and Tennessee, most notably in the world premiere of The Miracle, as well as being a backup dancer for Weird Al Yankovic's Straight Outta Lynwood tour. Previous credits include: Kira in Xanadu (Landless Theatre Co.), Olive in The 25th...Spelling Bee (Maryland Ensemble Theatre), Janet in Boeing Boeing (MET), Ruth in Thoroughly Modern Millie (RCP), and Catherine in Pippin (The Legacy Theatre). Other favorite roles: Ariel in Footloose, Beth in Little Women, and Lady Macbeth in Macbeth. Gratitude to God, many thanks to Erich, Kirsten & the creative team, and much love to her castmates, friends & family. "If you're making art, you're part of the cure."

Jake Lefler(Link Larkin) who is pursuing his PhD in chemistry at GWU, would like you to know that hairspray once used chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) as an aerosol propellant. CFCs are really bad for the ozone, which keeps you from roasting like a lobster when you go outside. Fortunately, CFCs were banned, so no ozone was harmed in the making of this production. Love to C&D, D/B, and BD.

13 Henry Metcalf (Sketch) is appearing in his first show with RCP and he is beyond excited! He would like to thank his family, Jim and Dana Van Slyke, Erich, Colleen, the nicest kids in town, the entire cast, crew and producers for sharing their energy and talents! Enjoy the show and make sure you use some of that Ultra Clutch Hairspray because you are about to be blown away!

David M. Moretti (Edna Turnblad) is appearing sans beard courtesy of Gillette! Dave has been spending more time behind the scenes over the last few years designing/building sets (WATCH award recipient) and producing/directing for Dominion Stage (Evil Dead: The Musical; The Great American Trailer Musical) as well as participating in CapitalFRINGE (That's What She Sang; Constructive Fictions). This is not Dave's first time performing in a John Waters-based work - he can be seen in the role of Papa Bear (with beard!) in the film comedy “A Dirty Shame.” Favorite onstage credits include Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof (SMP); Richard in A New Brain (KAT); the voice of Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors (MCP), and Dave Bukatinsky in The Full Monty (RMT). Special thanks to the RCP cast, crew and production teams that come together to make the "magic" happen, not to mention helping him to be "big, blondish and beautiful" in sensible heels! Final shout out to Jake for his patience and support of his husband's ongoing theater antics - "You're Timeless to Me Mister!"

Dana Robinson (Tracy Turnblad) is thrilled to be making her debut with RCP. Gratitude to Erich, Kirsten, and the rest of the production team for the opportunity to take on such an incredible role. Most recently, Dana directed Anything Goes (RMT). Other favorite credits: Fiddler on the Roof (Tzeitel), Grease (Jan), Urinetown (Little Sally), The Rocky Horror Show (Magenta). When she is not moonlighting as a theatre nerd, Dana is an Early Childhood Educator at Temple Emanuel ECC in Kensington, MD. Thanks to Mom, Dad, family and friends who have traveled from near and far to share love and support.

Jalen Robinson (Seaweed) is thrilled to be performing in his first RCP production! Recently, you may have seen him in South Lakes High School’s Phantom (Eric). He would like to thank his family for their encouragement and support, and the wonderful Hairspray team for helping to make this show amazing!

Alexis Shellow (Kamilah/Dynamite #2) is very excited to be joining the RCP community for the first time. Alexis is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Business but still loves to be on stage as much as she can. Alexis has held previous roles in Bizet’s Carmen, Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, Avenue Q, Songs for a New World, Drowsy Chaperone, Vanya, Sonia, Masha, and Spike, and Hairspray, alongside participating in a traveling song and dance troop and serving as a vocal accompanist for the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. Alexis is supported by her family and friends who continuously motivate her to stay active in her first true love, musical theater.

Benjamin Simpson (Corny Collins) is making his RCP debut and is overjoyed to work with this wonderful team. He lives in Southern Maryland and performs, directs and choreographs primarily for PTP. Some of his favorite credits include Mookie in The Wedding Singer (WATCH nominee - Outstanding Cameo), Harold Hill in The Music Man, Will Parker in Oklahoma, Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Wilbur in Hairspray (WATCH nominee - Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical), Richard Henry Lee in 1776, Trinculo in The Tempest, and most recently as Robert in Boeing, Boeing. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theatre and Dance from Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC.

14 Brandon Steele (Stooie) is excited for his second show with RCP. He made his debut in Thoroughly Modern Millie. He began his vocal training while attending the University of Texas at Austin, performing with the Men’s Chorus, Concert Chorale and the Butler School of Music Opera (BSOM) ensemble. He performed in the chorus of BSOM’s production of Die Fleidermaus. In January 2017, Brandon moved to Washington DC. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington’s (GMCW) small ensemble, 17th Street Dancers. He performed in GMCW’s 2017 productions of And the Tony Goes To and the Holiday Show. Brandon continues to train in several dance styles including ballet, , hip-hop and tap. He is thrilled to continue what he hopes to be many more musical theater productions.

Jessica Walton (Little Inez) loves playing Little Inez and is proud to have joined the RCP community with this production of Hairspray! Jessica is an 8th grader at Langston Hughes Middle School in Reston. She is a passionate dancer, focusing on hip hop. She has been dancing competitively with Adrenaline Studios in Tysons Corner (both hip hop and jazz) and is a member of the hip hop crew at Studio Bleu in Ashburn. Her previous musical theater performances were as Little Inez in the Langston Hughes Middle School performance in April 2018, and as a muse in Xanadu for Lopez Studios Summer Conservatory Program in August 2018. Jessica lives in Reston with her mom, dad and dog (and sometimes her older brother when he is home from college).

15 Jacob Ferchaud (Producer) is honored to be part of this amazing production of Hairspray and his 2nd season with RCP. His RCP credits include Assistant Stage Manager for Peter and the Star Catcher and Set Construction for Aida. He also currently serves as RCP’s Audience Experience Manager. Jacob would like to thank his husband Tim, for all his love and support.

Erich DiCenzo [Director/Choreographer] holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University. Before going on to pursue his Masters of Education at the University of Pittsburgh, he performed as a Featured Singer/ Dancer aboard one of Regent’s Seven Seas luxury world cruise liners, an experience which afforded him the opportunity to tour and explore over 65 countries! Currently, Erich serves as the Director of Theatre Arts and Technical Theatre at Fairfax High School. In addition, he acts as the Musical Theatre Instructor at the Institute for the Arts summer program and regularly directs/choreographs for CFTC. And Erich is no stranger to the spotlight himself! Most recently, Erich performed as the Leading Player in Pippin (TAP/WATCH Nomination). Prior to that, he played Michael in Snakebit (DS/WATCH Nomination), and Tulsa in Gypsy (RCP/WATCH Nomination).

Kirsten Boyd (Music Director) is thrilled to be Music Directing her first show at RCP! Versatile as a teacher and performer, Kirsten holds music degrees in piano and French horn from North Park University and Western Illinois University. Kirsten currently teaches General Music & Chorus with Fairfax County Public Schools. She has spent the past 10+ years active as a pianist, private instructor, music director, church musician and as a music director for musical theatre. Kirsten is the Producing Director for CFTC, having also served as their Artistic Director from 2013-2017. Kirsten has worked with a number of school theatre programs including Fairfax High School, Woodson High School and Robinson Middle School. Kirsten served on the music staff at Truro Anglican Church, Fairfax, from 2006 -2017, serving as Director of Worship & Arts for Truro from 2010 to June 2014. Colleen Stock (Stage Manager) is marking her 4th show with RCP. Previously, she Stage Managed Rehearsal For Murder, Rock of Ages and Peter and the Starcatcher. Hairspray has been such a blast to work on - and the cast and crew are so extremely talented. Other favorites include Evil Dead: The Musical and A Streetcar Named Desire (TFT), Reefer Madness and Carrie: The Musical (DS). Thank you to Erich, for letting her work on one of her “Bucket List” shows, love to Mom, Dad, Liz, Will, Jacob and Andy. All the love and all the thanks to her AMAZING husband Wayne, who loves and supports her always.

Sandy Dotson (Assistant Stage Manager/Set Decorator) is excited to be back for her third season with RCP. Recent duties include Crew Chief for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Set Decorator for Aida (WATCH nominee) and Peter and the Starcatcher. Thank you to my parents and friends for their wonderful support and to my RCP family for their acceptance and trust.

Dan Widerski (Set Designer/Master Carpenter/Co-Technical Director) is pleased to be a part of the Hairspray team and is grateful to Erich for the opportunity to be a part of this excellent team. Previous scenic design include Aida (RCP), Rock of Ages (RCP), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (TAP), Peter and the Starcatcher (RCP), and the The Diary of Anne Frank (PWLT). Dan also acts as the Co-Technical Director for RCP with Sara Birkhead. Dan would like to thank his entire crew for assisting him with this production and his wife Sheila for supporting him and his love of theatre.

Cathy Rieder (Scenic Artist) is thrilled to bring another Dan Widerski set design to life! Cathy has painted over 75 shows in the DC area, most recently Aida, Peter and The Starcatcher and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (RCP) and She Loves Me and A Streetcar Named Desire (TAP). She has 4 WATCH Awards for Shrek (RCP), Curtains (RCP), Hairspray (LTA) and Ain't Misbehavin' (ESP). Cathy thanks the set build crew for their awesome construction and Sabrina Begley and Maggie Cotter for their colorful artistry. It's always high energy fun in the RCP scene shop! 16 Andy Shaw (Lighting Designer) is a theatre teacher at Chantilly HS. Before starting his teaching career, he worked as an actor, director and designer in the Philadelphia area. He was nominated for two BroadwayWorld.com (Philadelphia Area) awards for Best Lighting Design - Didn’t Your Father Have This Talk with You? (Act II Playhouse) and Best Supporting Actor - A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Tudor Theatrical Productions). He received his MA in Theatre from Villanova University and his BA in Theatre and Music from Mt. St. Mary’s University. Love and thanks to the RCP Hairspray team, Erich, his “work wife” Shannon, and his real wife, Jess.

Lori Crockett (Costume Designer) is excited to be working with RCP for the first time. Recent credits include costume design/fabrication for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Little Matchgirl/Velveteen Rabbit, and Doubt with CFTC. Special thanks to Erich and Kiki for giving me this opportunity and to my daughter, Sierra, for encouraging my passions.

Ashley-Rose Dickey (Costume Designer) volunteered for a costuming position several years ago and had no idea she'd be completely sucked in by the storytelling that costumes can do. Past credits have included The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (CFTC), VBS productions (IBC), and even Hairspray (CFTC), as well as serving as a consultant and seamstress on shows like Joseph...Dreamcoat and Footloose. When not behind the scenes, Ashley-Rose also enjoys being on stage in shows such as The Importance of Being Ernest (CFTC), One Holy Lamb (IBC), and Rigoletto (Wolf Trap Opera). Enjoy the colors, the lights, the sounds, the dancing, and most of all, the show!

Sara Birkhead (Running Crew Chief/Co-Technical Director) is thrilled to be working with the amazing Hairspray production team on this incredible production! First, the passion and talent brought to bear on this show is contagious and inspiring. Second, this is probably the only show of the season that she will be able to fully be a part of as she writes her dissertation in Mathematics Education Leadership this year.

Sue Pinkman (Wig Design) is a 40-year veteran actor-director-producer in the Northern Virginia theatre scene and considers RCP her home base. Wig/hair design seems to have become her second calling. Some of her projects include Hairspray (WATCH Award, LTA), Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (WATCH Award, RCP), Shrek the Musical, Seussical the Musical (WATCH Award, RCP), Forbidden Broadway (WATCH Award, RCP) and most recently Thoroughly Modern Millie (RCP) and The Wedding Singer (NS). Newly retired, Sue is looking forward to many more freelance theatre opportunities! Bianca Lara (Make Up) is a makeup artist who, from a young age, has always had an inclination for the arts. She graduated from QC Makeup Academy in 2016 and has since worked on corporate photo shoots, special events and bridal. Bianca feels extremely lucky to have the opportunity to work with Kirsten and Erich again on Hairspray.
