Rajyotsava day is celebrated with great joy and vigour all over the state of Karnataka. The entire state wears a festive look on this day as the red and yellow Kannada flags are hoisted at different strategic locations across the state and the Kannada anthem ("Jaya Bharatha Jananiya Tanujate") is chanted. The state government asserts Rajyotsava awards on this day, which are awarded to people responsible for great contributions in the development of Karnataka. The Chief Minister of the State inaugurates the cultural show which is normally held at Kanteerava Stadium, Bangalore. Awards are presented to students who have won medals in various national games.
Then comes Diwali which is the greatest Hindu festival of lights celebrated every year in November. The festival with holidays filled with fun and joy and special home made foods. Creativity Unfolds…
being a teacher..
Am I be in accord?? Neither I fit as a quality teacher nor am I in a voyage of constant evolution of being so. My fancy illusion of being a writer or film making are part of second thought but sure as I reckon my quite short experience of teaching, I am intrigued by single most quest: will I be ever revered or rewarded for my choice of profession? I am absolutely sure, none would appreciate it! my students look at me as a clown or bore who has made up the career option for not having courage to be a part of market orientalism; my close aids think that my idealism has halted me here; my relatives think that I failed to grab a wealthy package in the metros to suffice the bourgeoning desire of being a rich. Well my natives think, ‘here he comes to enjoy as a lazy bone which he was in the first place.’ Many more taglines and remarks made on my profession and me! ah actually is this not how teaching profession is spelt around? In the dining conversation people make fun of us ‘oh come on!! I know how stupid is your job, every one hour you go for tea and two hours of job, then what else you are
