Students attending school in-person will receive a pass in their class indicating when to report to the counseling office. Students MUST use this pass and leave class at the assigned time for the appointment. Students in remote learning at home will receive an email notification of their appointment time. The counselor will also send the student a Zoom or Google Meet link. Class of 2021 Seniors There was a mandatory senior meeting on September 15 to discuss important Senior college information, including reviewing the application process. Class of 2022 Juniors There was a Junior Class Meeting on Wednesday, September 30 to discuss important Junior information including the October 14 PSAT/NMSQT and required Spring testing which includes the SAT in April 2021. Signing up for Virtual College Visits – Juniors and Seniors Students should sign up in advance on Naviance for virtual college visits during the school day. If the student is attending school in person, they will receive a pass from the CRC to leave class to attend the virtual visit. If the student is a remote learner at home, they should inform the teacher that they plan to attend a virtual college visit. Please contact Lou Ann Frantz for more information about the school day college visits. [email protected] Upcoming: BHHS Virtual College Night – Monday, October 12. Bloomfield Hills High School is excited to host our first Virtual College Night on Monday, October 12 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Virtual College Night will give your student an opportunity to listen to and ask questions of the representatives from the schools they are interested in attending. We will also have a representative from the NCAA present. If you are interested in playing a sport in college you should plan to attend one of these sessions. BHHS Testing Schedule BHHS students were scheduled to take College Board assessments and other Michigan Merit Examinations last April, and these were cancelled due to the early school closure in March. Bloomfield Hills Schools has rescheduled testing for our current 12th and 11th grade students. Wednesday, September 23 our current 12th grade students took the SAT. Wednesday, October 14, current 11th graders will take the PSAT/NMSQT. Current 9th and 10th grade students will have the opportunity to take any and all required testing in April, 2021. CRC News UPCOMING VIRTUAL COLLEGE VISITS Juniors and seniors interested in virtually meeting with college representatives must sign up for the visits on Naviance. Students must sign up for visits 1 day in advance and most college visits are limited to 20 students. Below is the list of scheduled college and university visits. Sign into Naviance Student 2. Go to the Colleges tab. 3. Scroll down to College Visits. 4. Find schools you are interested in and Click Register Nitro Knowledge. Your Guide to Paying for College. October 1st is the first day the new FAFSA for the 2021-2022 school year is officially open! One of the biggest mistakes students can make when paying for college is not filling out the FAFSA, and it’s important to fill it out early because a lot of financial aid is on a first-come-first- served basis. Click here to see a chart of schools that are participating. Be sure to check the dates that the fee waivers expire, it varies by school.
