champaign park district The Champaign Park District is a special district of local government with its own financial and legal responsibilities. It is governed by five elected residents of Champaign who give their services to the commu- nity. The Park Board holds its regular meetings on the second Wednes- day of each month at 7 pm at the Bresnan Meeting Center, 706 Kenwood Road. Residents are invited to attend and are welcome to make sug- gestions or comments to improve the programs or facilities offered. The Champaign Park District's 60 parks total over 570 acres. Fifteen facilities are available for a wide variety of recreational opportunities. Summer 2OO6 Mission Statement A New Historical “First” The mission of the Champaign Park District is to provide quality parks and recreation for our community. This summer offers many new first-time experiences for Champaign residents. The Hays Recreation Center is equipped with two activity rooms and is available to rent weekday evenings and weekends for your next meeting, reception, reunion, or neighborhood social. The beautiful Historic Lobby offers an intimate setting for professional concerts and exhibits.
