Abstract:

This TESOL Virtual Seminar, “Teaching Vocabulary. Is It a Waste of Learning Time?,” with Paul Nation, was a PowerPoint + audio presentation held on Tuesday, January 30, 2007, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm EST.

Overview: The work of the vocabulary teacher can be divided into four major tasks, in order of importance: to plan a well-balanced vocabulary course, to train learners to use vocabulary learning strategies, to test and monitor vocabulary growth, and to teach vocabulary.
