Mandatory Assignment to Housing Policy for all personnel who fall into the junior enlisted, company grade, and K&E categories . Military personnel must schedule their in-processing appointment by downloading/utilizing the USAG Stuttgart App . During your virtual in-processing appointment, a housing counselor will call you at the number provided in your scheduled appointment; please update contact information as necessary

. Everyone that has a housing requirement, whether applying for on-post or off- post quarters, must be eligible . Families become eligible for housing through a number of processes . Here are a few of the most common:  Service Members with accompanying Family Members command sponsorship  Concurrent or deferred travel orders  Service Member married to Service Member (MACP)

7 UNCLASSIFIED//FOUO HousingAgenda Eligibility Eligibility Date

Your eligibility date is determined by the date that you leave your last permanent duty station. Sponsors may be placed on a waiting list prior departing their losing installation, by submitting a DD 1746 (Housing Application) a copy of your PCS orders, and leave documentation, if applicable. Sponsors must sign-in at the new duty station (CPF) before assignment is made. Upon in-processing a copy of your leave request/approval will be required to substantiate your date departed last permanent duty station.

Example: John Smith PCSs and signs out on leave on 1 May takes leave until 30 May and signs into unit. Your eligibility date is 1 May and this is the date you will be placed on your respective waiting list. However, if Billy Bob Smith PCSs and starts leave on 20 April and signs into new duty station on 4 June by regulatory guidance this family will be placed ahead of the family that arrived on 30 May if the two families are competing on the same waiting with the same requirements. Families can not “jump” on any waiting list however a Family can be displaced by a Family that has a higher eligibility date.

Q: Can I lose my original eligibility date? A: Yes In-processing with housing must be completed within 30 days of arrivals or receipt of command sponsorship to maintain your eligibility date of date departed last duty station or date of command sponsorship approval. Beyond 30 days, or in event of tour changes, the effective date on the waiting list will be date of application/tour changes. If Service Member does not in-process with a housing counselor TLA may be forfeited.

8 UNCLASSIFIED//FOUO Temporary LodgingAgenda Allowance Applicable to all of branches of Service

. Service Members required to live in on-post quarters must check-in weekly regarding waitlist status . Virtual check-in (call or email) is preferred . Updated waitlists are printed and viewable in housing lobby every Tuesday

. Service Members authorized to seek off-post quarters must prove an aggressive housing search in order to continue authorization of TLA  Aggressive private rental search is categorized as viewing 2-3 homes per the first 10 day period and 4-5 homes weekly thereafter  Authorization is given, by way of Certificate of non-availability (CNA) or IAW the USAG Stuttgart “Choice Policy”

. If after 30 days you have not signed a tentative/valid rental contract with a projected move-in date prior to the 60th day of TLA, you will be required to obtain a temporary month to month type of lease, while you continue house hunting

. TLA is reimbursed in 10 day increments  Provide hotel bill to housing to receive “TLA Document” to turn in to finance for payment/reimbursement

. For Off-Post hotel, Statement of non availability (SNA) number is required, issued by on post hotel with dates specific to your stay

. AE 37-4 is the regulation that governs TLA.

. If not provided ahead of your arrival, provide a completed DD 1746, copy of orders (and any amendments), and leave form to the housing office. Both Military and Civilian personnel must complete the DD 1746 and provide orders. . Information will be used to update and create your housing record. . After completing the DD-1746, and this housing brief, authorized personnel can begin their off post house hunting search and utilize our off-post housing contracted services. A “routing sheet”, provided by the housing office is needed to obtain services through Pervin Estates. . For Military members private rental search begins once you have attended your in-processing brief and verified eligibility with housing.
