2017 Korean Language and Culture Program by Eastern Social Welfare Society
1. Eligibility - Any Korean adoptees that desire to learn Korean language and culture - Must be over 18 years old - Must have minimum of completed high school education with diploma - Eastern Adoptees will have first priority to be selected and first time applicant as well. - Family members are not allowed to join this program - Adoptees that faithfully devote to class without a dropout

Term Period: - Korean Language and Culture Program at Hallym University : June 26(Mon), 2017 ~ July 14(Fri), 2017 - ESWS Program : June 20(Tue), 2017 ~ June 23(Fri), 2017 July 14(Fri), 2017 ~ July 19(Wed) 2017 * Arrival date: between June 18(Sun) and June 19 (Mon), 2017 * Departure date: between July 20 (Thu) and July 21 (Fri), 2017
3. Korean Language and Culture Program at Hallym University in Chuncheon, Korea (Website: http://ige.hallym.ac.kr/) - Hallym University is located at Chuncheon. Located 80km northeast of Seoul. (address: 1 Hallymdaehak-gil, Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, Korea) - All applicants will live in Dormitory in Hallym University and it is on double occupancy. - One Korean student may accompany and help 3 applicants (including adopted person and foreign students) - Applicants are to have schedule on weekends in Chuncheon, either.
4. Scholarships and other expenses supported by ESWS : · Hallym Program: tuition, accommodation(dormitory), meals(partially) · ESWS Program: accommodation(ESWS guesthouse), meals(partially) (EXCLUDING the round airfare and personal expenses such as some meals, transportation)
5. Requirements: ① Application ② 1 self-introductory essay (include describing how to adapt in cultural differences) ③ 3 self-photos (size: 4 X 5 cm or passport photo) ④ 1 letter of recommendation from the adoption agency ⑤ Copy of either the final Graduation Diploma or Certificate of Student ID ⑥ Copy of passport ⑦ Medical report issued within the past 1year (including hepatitis & tuberculosis)

Chuncheon enjoys the best of both worlds, boasting both the conveniences of a thriving, modern industrial city, and some of the most beautiful natural scenery in Korea. Chuncheon can be reached by car, bus and train. Those traveling by car or bus are advised that Chuncheon, as the administrative heart of Gangwon province, is serviced with an excellent road system. In addition, the route leading to the city extends along the Han River, commanding a very scenic view. However, it is the difficulty of driving through the heavy traffic of a large city like Seoul that can make the journey unnecessarily long. A viable alternative is to take the train. The rail journey from Yongsan station in Seoul to Chuncheon takes approximately two hours, and offers the traveler the opportunity to enjoy beautiful scenery. Moreover, this journey will be cut considerably once the high-speed train service is completed. Traffic is rarely a problem in Chuncheon, and, once in the city, the University can be reached easily and cheaply by taxi. Hallym Univ. is located in Chuncheon city, 2 hours towards the east, away from Seoul. Chuncheon is very quiet not like Seoul and small area in Gangwondo Province.
