George forged great friendships with fellow players Charlie Townsend, Matt Farrell,Ron King on and off the pitch. Following his time with the Stones he went on to play briefly for other local sides Wembley & Harrow Borough. George continued playing into his forties as player manager of Sunday side Hatch End.
