SANTA MONICA, CA (May 28, 2011) – Celebrating the 15th anniversary of the hit series-turned-international anime franchise Rurouni Kenshin, Aniplex of America Inc. announced today that it will be releasing the Blu-ray disc versions of the OVA (Original Video Animation) series and movie in North America, through RightStuf.com and Bandai Entertainment’s The Store on the same day as Japan.     RUROUNI KENSHIN – CRÔNICAS DA ERA MEIJI, DE NOBUHIRO WATSUKI: PERSONAGENS E REPRESENTAÇÕES DA HISTÓRIA DO JAPÃO. RESUMO A comunicação tem por temática a ambientação no final do shogunato Tokugawa e a instauração da era Meiji no Japão, utilizando-se da narrativa proposta pelo mangá “Rurouni Kenshin – Crônicas da Era Meiji”, de Nobuhiro Watsuki. Pretendo desenvolver análise de alguns personagens que estão inseridos no mangá, e destes, discutir a construção histórica que se realiza sobre esse período dos anos de 1854 até 1878, o qual é conhecido como o de modernização e ocidentalização do Japão. Mangás são produtos de mídia cultural que nos informam e permitem a aproximação sobre assuntos dos mais diversos, abordando desde a cultura, seus hábitos e costumes, como ainda sua organização social, e até mesmo curiosidades outras, como sua arquitetura e alimentação. Os mangás estabeleceram pontes entre nossas realidades globalizadas, e a análise das personagens pretende compreender a maneira como estes atuam para corroborar discursos sobre a história, alimentando imaginários de mundo. A análise dos personagens é importante no que tange discutir quais são os sentidos que representam, se abraçam o discurso da história geral sobre o Japão, se o contestam, como se relacionam a um possível nacionalismo e a uma memória sobre esse período. É também realizado um levantamento bibliográfico inicial sobre a história do Japão, visto que a fonte primária aborda justamente um processo da história japonesa a que pouco temos conhecimento. Por esse motivo, o tema histórico abordado no mangá e a maneira como ele constrói o passado é enriquecedor para discutir nossa própria concepção de consciência histórica.
