The club continued to develop its coaching philosophy as a way of dealing with increased playing numbers and a group of internal coaches that we are still developing. The idea centres on players developing self-management skills and then focusing on some fundamental cricket skills with increased volume/repetition, an eye to quality, and bringing an intensity to all training sessions. We again started slowly in the first half of the season, as there was a lot of bad weather, but in the second half of the season training was smoother and more productive as players became comfortable with the ideas and practices.

The four pillars of our vision coupled with the four elements of the UTAS Cricket Coaching Plan (Fitness, Knowledge, Skill, and Attitude) are an important part of achieving our club goals. We looked to demand more from our captains and the other natural leaders in the group. In leadership development as this will be a vital element of sustainable success.

In the time since the season finished we have been able to secure the services of Andrew Downton, a former State player and a CA Level 3 Coach, who will take on the role of General Manager Coaching and Development. This is a holistic role with a focus on players and teams, but also the development and support of coaches and our leaders.

Brad Thomas will continue next season in the role of High Performance Coach and looks forward to further developing our playing group ensuring that we make the most of this golden opportunity within the club’s history.

Josh Bean, Jimmy Hortle, Gilbert van der Steege, and Charles Rose completed their CA Level 2 Coaching Course and we started to see the benefits of that investment across the club. However, we will need more support so recruiting and training coaches/managers will continue to be an important task for the coming seasons. It will be critical that our training programs become more structured and that we start to develop a good pool of assistant coaches that can one day grow into senior coaches.

We have a very young senior squad, with so much potential, and we again have an exciting group of younger players who will develop over the coming years. Some additions during the offseason of experienced players Jayde Herrick and Tom Triffitt will ensure these younger players can experience up close what professional cricket is all about. This all promises to ensure we are a leading club for at least the next decade. the years ahead we will need to continue to focus on our

5. MEMBERS

5.1 The following shall be a full member of the Club:

a) Any person who is a player of the Club and is over the age of 18 upon payment of the Annual subscription for full player members prescribed by the Board from time to time. b) Any other person who is a past player of the Club and is over the age of 18 upon payment of the annual subscription for full non – playing members prescribed by the Board from time to time c) Any other person, being nominated for full membership as provided herein and is over the age of 18, their membership being approved by the Board and upon payment of the Annual Subscription prescribed by the Board from time to time. d) All Office Bearers of the Club upon payment of the Annual subscription prescribed by the Board from time to time.

5.2 The following shall be a social member of the Club:

a) Any person other than a full member, being nominated for membership as provided herein and is over the age of 18, their membership being approved by the Board and upon payment of the Annual Subscription prescribed by the Board from time to time.

5.3 The following shall be a junior member of the Club:

a) Any person who is a player of the Club and has not yet reached the age of 18 upon payment of the Annual subscription for junior members prescribed by the Board from time to time. b) Any other person who is a past player of the Club has not yet reached the age of 18 upon payment of the annual subscription prescribed by the Board from time to time

5.4 A person who is an employee of the Club is eligible to be a full member of the Club on payment of the annual subscription prescribed for employee members by the Board from time to time.

5.5 A nomination of a person for membership of the Club as either a full or social member of the Club shall be signed by two (2) members of the Club and;

a) Shall be accompanied by the consent of the person nominated (which may be endorsed on the form of nomination); and b) Shall be lodged with the Secretary of the Club; c) As soon as practicable after the receipt of a nomination the Secretary shall refer the nomination to the Board; d) The Board shall have the power to invite nominated persons to attend a meeting of the Board prior to approval or rejection of the admission of that person to membership

5.6 The Secretary shall ensure that a proper register of members is kept showing the name and address of each member and the category of membership.
