ADDRESS: 59 Florence St Greta 2334 Branxton VIEW Club members were saddened by the loss of our dear foundation member, Jan Travis, who passed away on 23rd. July. A foundation member with Edith McRae for 31 years, Jan was always ready to share her experience with us. We formed a guard of honour at her funeral. Vale Jan-you are greatly missed by all of us. Our 31st Birthday celebrations were well attended by the many clubs and friends. Lots of fun and laughter as we themed our entertainment on THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED. Do you remember the Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens, and Buddy Holly who all died in a tragic plane crash and also Patsy Cline who also died in a plane crash ? Well the music and antics of our entertainers certainly had our audience smiling and joining in the songs. Who can forget “That’ll be the Day”, “Peggy Sue“, “Chantilly Lace” and “Tennessee Waltz” followed by Don Mc Leans’ song “American Pie” written by him in 1971 referring to the above artists. Yes, we all dressed up and in typical Branxton VIEW manner had a fantastic 31st birthday celebration ! Many thanks to all those who proved “that many hands make light work” both before and after the day. Congratulations and thanks to Greta Workers Club and their fantastic cook and helpers-well done ! All money raised goes to fund our five disadvantaged school children whom we sponsor through the Smith Family Learning for Life program. Thank you to all our friends and supporters! Our next function is our “donna-lou” Fashion Parade to be held in Branxton Community Hall on 26th September. Everyone is most welcome to attend and the affordable clothes can be purchased on the day. Sizes range from 8 - 26 and latest Spring/Summer fashions will be presented on the day. $15 includes a light lunch and the day commences at 10am so come along and bring some friends and enjoy the warmth and friendship that we enjoy.

Peace and love to everyone Judy Spillard
