RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 193 Minutes of REGULAR Meeting April 20, 2011 The Twinsburg City School District Board of Education met in REGULAR session on the above date at the Twinsburg Government Center in Council Chambers at 7:00 p.m. The following board members were present: Mrs. Cain-Criswell, Mr. Crosby, Mr. Shebeck, and Mr. Stuver. Arriving at 8:30 was Mr. Andrews. Recordings of the Board of Education meeting are made and kept at the Board Office. Video recordings and agendas are available on the District’s web site. Board Minutes are posted on the web site after approved by the Board. www.twinsburg.k12.oh.us Mrs. Cain-Criswell moved and Mr. Shebeck seconded that the Twinsburg Board of Education adopt resolutions 11-132 to 11-134. 11-132 NEOLA Policy That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves the Second Reading of the following policies; upon the recommendation of the Superintendent. See Pages 197-213 11-134 Washington D.C. Trip That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves a trip to Washington D.C. for the students at R.B. Chamberlin Middle School on May 4, 5, & 6, 2011; upon the recommendation of the Superintendent Ayes: Mrs. Cain-Criswell, Mr. Crosby, Mr. Stuver, and Mr. Shebeck. The Board President declared the motions approved. 11-135 Settlement Mr. Stuver moved and Mr. Crosby seconded that the Twinsburg Board of Education and the Twinsburg Education Association hereby settle the dispute regarding Barb Washington and the supplemental contract issue. To settle this grievance, Ms. Washington shall be paid $535.82. She will also be reimbursed for expenses incurred for coaching apparel RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 194 Minutes of REGULAR Meeting April 20, 2011 provided items are returned in good condition as well as reimbursement for two coaching requirement classes that she has provided receipts for. The Association agrees it will withdraw the grievance and will not file an unfair labor practice with regards to said grievance. Ayes: Mrs. Cain-Criswell, Mr. Crosby, and Mr. Stuver. Nay: Mr. Shebeck. The Board President declared the motion approved. 11-136 Accept Donation Mr. Shebeck moved and Mr. Crosby seconded that the Twinsburg Board of Education approves a donation from the Board of Education in the amount of $1,500 to the Twinsburg H5igh School After-Prom Committee; upon the recommendation of the Superintendent. Ayes: Mrs. Cain-Criswell, Mr. Crosby, Mr. Stuver, and Mr. Shebeck. The Board President declared the motion approved. Amanda Bova Abigail Etcher Jessica Toth Carmen Link Krista Markel Chris Shaffer Courtney Navarro Denise Ryan Anthony Byrd 11-142 Employment That the Twinsburg Board of Education terminate all supplemental contracts, including supplemental contracts for Extended-Time for school year 2010-2011; upon the recommendation of the Superintendent. 11-143 Employment That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves a Supplemental Contract for Amber Albertini to attend Dodge Intermediate School trip to Camp Fitch on May 19-20, 2011; upon the recommendation of the Superintendent. 11-144 Employment That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves the employment of Kristen Krupinski to provide up to ten (10) days of Speech-Language services at her daily rate, to be paid from the General Fund; upon the recommendation of the Superintendent. 11-145 Employment That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves the following certified substitute Katherine Sellman for the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year; upon the recommendation of the Superintendent. 11-146 Employment That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves the employment of Shannon Scott as a Home Instruction Tutor at the hourly rate of $23 per hour, to be paid from the General fund, hours to be determined and are as needed by the individual; upon recommendation of the Superintendent. 11-147 Employment That the Twinsburg Board of Education approves the employment of the following teachers for summer staff development at the daily curriculum rate to be paid from Title llA FY11 or Title llA FY 12; upon the recommendation of the Superintendent. Margaret Delgado Chernick beginning approximately Sept. 2, 2011 and returning Jan. 3, 2012. Jennifer Watson for the 2011-2012 school year, returning for the 2012-2013 school year Allison Dodeci beginning April 29, 2011 through May 20, 2011. Ayes: Mrs. Cain-Criswell, Mr. Crosby, Mr. Stuver, and Mr. Shebeck. The Board President declared the motions approved. MISCELLANEOUS Mr. Shebeck was willing to make a motion to purchase signage to honor the Lady Tigers Girls’ Basketball Team and their accomplishments in winning the girls’ basketball state championship. Discussion turned to first obtaining pricing for the signs and what type of sign and size of sign was desired then secondly making a decision on their purchase. No Action was taken. 11-150 EXECUTIVE SESSION Mr. Stuver moved and Mr. Shebeck seconded that the Twinsburg Board of Education meet in Executive Session at approximately 8:22 p.m. for the purpose of discussing: The appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of public employees, personnel and superintendent search. Ayes: Mrs. Cain-Criswell, Mr. Crosby, Mr. Stuver, and Mr. Shebeck. The Board President declared the motion approved. The Board reconvened from Executive Session at approximately 9:20 p.m. The following members were present: Mr. Andrews, Mrs. Cain-Criswell, Mr. Crosby, Mr. Stuver, and Mr. Shebeck. 11-151 Adjournment Mr. Shebeck moved and Mr. Stuver seconded that the Twinsburg Board of Education adjourn at 9:21 p.m. Ayes: Mr. Andrews, Mrs. Cain-Criswell, Mr. Crosby, Mr. Stuver, and Mr. Shebeck.
