1. EVENT INFORMATION UPDATE
2019 Summer Universiade Games
The 30th Summer Universiade will take place in the city of Naples, which is the regional capital of Campania and the third-largest municipality in Italy. This international summer multisport event is scheduled to take place from July 3-14, 2019.
TEAM CANADA CONFIRMED SPORTS PARTICIPATION
U SPORTS has received interest to participate from the following Sports / NSOs:
o Archery o Athletics o Basketball (U SPORTS run teams) o Fencing o Gymnastics o Rugby o Soccer (U SPORTS run teams) o Swimming o Table Tennis o Taekwondo o Volleyball (U SPORTS run teams) o Water Polo
TRANSPORTATION
**For planning purposes, please advise if your organization will be booking flights for your sport’s delegation or if you will require assistance from U SPORTS.
Flights may be booked individually or through the recommended U SPORTS travel agent. The preferred travel dates will be discussed with each sport on an individual basis.
Note: Athletes and coaches must be checked out of their accommodations in the athlete’s village within 36 hours of their sport’s final event.
The official airport is Capodichino Airport, the international airport of Naples.

A. SITE VISIT – APRIL 2019
A site visit Naples, Italy will take place on April 1 – 5, 2019. The Chef de Mission and Assistant Chef de Mission will take part in this site visit and obtain information in the following areas:

** Please review material in the Technical Regulations (link below) and provide any sport specific questions you may have, for the Head of Delegation to provide to the Organizing Committee.

3. MISSION STAFF ANNOUNCEMENT & COMMUNICATIONS
Mission Staff for the 2019 FISU Summer Universiade will include the following positions:

An official announcement and communications of the full Mission Staff and participating sports will start in December 2018.
To assist U SPORTS in the buildup and promotion of the Games and your student-athletes, please do your best to support and push out all communications through all available channels.
