2 DE KLIJTE

De Klijte is a small village in Heuvelland, but no less beautiful! There is a nature reserve that is popularly known as ‘Little Switzerland’. This originated in the deeply cut bed of a brook that flows into the Kemmelbeek. You can idyllically walk (or cycle) in a landscape with bushes and meadows. The church is protected as a monument and is certainly worth a visit!

25 WULVERGEM

The village is the smallest in the municipality Heuvelland, with only about 260 inhabitants and an area of 350 ha. Wulvergem would have originated along a Roman road. This ran from Belle over the Ravelsberg, ‘the Walletjes’ in Nieuwkerke and Kraaiberg to Messines and on to . At that time Wulvergem was not yet where it is now.
