A cast of more than 30 will entrance the audience with percussive footwork, snapping fans and thundering castanets, all clothed in majestic authentic costuming. Join us as we follow Carmen and Don José through this timeless, tragic love story. Flamenco Del Sol is a partnership with Angel Rojas, Madrid-based renowned flamenco dancer, producer and choreographer. “We offer bilingual classes and workshops with flamenco greats direct from Spain, with all proceeds of our biennial productions, such as Carmen, going to the Ronald McDonald House.” — Tamara Weber Miller, Flamenco Del Sol founder COURTESY FLAMENCO DEL SOL SEPTEMBER OCTOBER Sep. 1-Oct. 11 Oct. 12-14 Young Actors Dance Workshop Osceola Arts, Carmina Burana Orlando Ballet, Dr. Phillips 407.749.6613, osceolaarts.org Center for the Performing Arts, 407.418.9828, Sep. 1-Dec. 14 orlandoballet.org Movement & Tai Chi Atlantic Center for the Arts, Oct. 13 Council On Aging, 386.427.6975, Season Opening Gala Orlando Ballet, Dr. Phillips atlanticcenterforthearts.org Center for the Performing Arts, 407.418.9828, orlandoballet.org Sep. 5-Nov. 7 Storybook Stars Osceola Arts, 407.749.6613, NOVEMBER osceolaarts.org Nov. 2-4 Sep. 9 The Nutcracker Suite Orlando Ballet, Garden Dance DNA A Magi Dance World Belly Dance, Theatre, 407.418.9828, gardentheatre.org 407.423.7269, amagibellydance.com Nov. 16-17 Sep. 18 Choreographers’ Showcase Valencia College, Uncorked Orlando Ballet, The Abbey, Valencia College Performing Arts Center - East 407.418.9828, orlandoballet.org Campus, 407.582.2900, valenciacollege.edu/arts ORLANDO ARTS MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2018 38 P. 37-65 Season Preview 2018-2019.indd 38 8/10/18 12:58 PM DECEMBER Jan. 25 Mar. 29-31 3 In Motion Valencia College, Valencia Col- Dec. 7-16 FFCC Championships Florida Federation of Col- lege Performing Arts Center - East Campus, The Nutcracker Orlando Ballet, Dr. Phillips Center orguards Circuit (FFCC), Ocean Center, ffcc.org 407.582.2900, valenciacollege.edu/arts for the Performing Arts, 407.418.9828, Mar. 30-31 orlandoballet.org FEBRUARY Peter & the Wolf, Family Weekend Orlando Dec. 8-15 Feb. 15-17 Ballet, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, The Nutcracker Family Show Orlando Ballet, Bailamos!
