My Commission Expires: July 10, 1987 1983 UTAH TROUT STAMP

In an effort to increase funds available for the state's trout fishing programs, the Utah Vildlife Board has instituted a trout fishing stamp. Fast efforts to increase fishing license fees have failed in the Utah Legislature. The trout stamp takes effect at the start of the regular fishing season (May 28, 1983).

Any licensed fisherman will be required to have a validated (signed) trout stamp in his/her possession while fishing for, possessing, or transporting trout. Interstate waters (Bear Lake, Flaming Gorge Reservoir, and Lake Powell) are exempt from the trout stamp requirement.

Fishing in waters not considered trout waters, such as Utah Lake, Villard Bay, and Blue Lake, will not require a trout stamp. However, when fishing in waters that contain trout in combination with other fish species (Pineview Reservoir, Deer Creek Reservoir, etc.) anglers are urged to have the stamp. If you catch a trout in one of those waters, you are required to have a trout stamp and may be given a citation if you do not.

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is anxious to progress with Utah trout projects and sincerely appreciates your support of the trout stamp. WHERE TOUR TROUT STAMP MOHET WILL BE SPENT TO SUPPORT FUTURE UTAH FISHIHQ
