Communiqué De Presse Communiqué De Presse 03 DÉCEMBRE 2017 HongKong ePrix : An inconclusive weekend for Renault e.dams Despite a positive start to the day and a thrilling second race with many overtakes, Renault e.dams leaves Hong Kong with 7 points under their belt, thanks to the ninth and eighth places from Nicolas Prost and the tenth from Sébastien Buemi after race winner Daniel Abt’s disqualification. Renault e.dams was back on track this Sunday morning for Free Practice on the second day of the HKT Hong Kong ePrix. The timings progressively improved throughout the session allowing the Swiss driver to set a new track record of 1:02.002. However, Sébastien was unable to repeat this in Qualifying which saw him start last on the grid after having hit the wall. Nicolas had to settle for 14th position, 0.8s behind the poleman, Felix Rosenqvist. An inconclusive weekend for Renault e.dams The race started behind the safety car because of an issue with the starting light. Once racing was underway, Nicolas and Sebastien had a clean gateway at Turn 1, avoiding the spinning Rosenqvist. Two laps later, Nicolas moved up to ninth with Sébastien in 18th. After setting one of the fastest laptimes, the Swiss driver put his head down and was up to 14th before his mandatory car swap. When they exited the pits, Nicolas and Sébastien rejoined the track in 10th and 11th respectively. On the final lap, Nicolas crossed the finish line in ninth after overtaking Alex Lynn, grabbing two more vital points for both championships. Meanwhile, Sébastien concluded his tough weekend in 11th place. However, it was found that the FIA security stickers on the inverter and MGU units did not correspond with those declared on the Technical Passport provided by Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler team for the event. Therefore, the stewards have decided to disqualify Daniel Abt, meaning Nicolas ended eighth and Sébastien tenth, grabbing the one point remaining. Renault e.dams leaves Hong Kong with a total of 7 points and will be back on track for the second round of the FIA Formula E Championship on January 13th 2018, in Marrakesh (Morocco). Alain Prost, coowner of the team “The weekend has been disappointing. We will analyze where the reliability issues we faced this weekend came from to ensure we solve them quickly. The important thing from today is to work hard to get us back to the front. We are not where we should have been this weekend.” Vincent Gaillardot, FE Program Leader “Regarding yesterday’s race, we are still trying to understand where the reliability issues came from. We saw earlier today during Free Practice 3 that Sébastien’s car was very reliable in qualifying mode. However, during the race, we didn’t manage to recover like we usually do. The competition has certainly progressed but beyond that, we haven’t managed to deliver and capitalise on our usual performances. We will continue to analyze this to fully optimize the car.” Nicolas Prost, #8 “The weekend has been tough, we would have expected more. Last year, Hong Kong was also a difficult weekend but yet we were efficient for the rest of the season, so there is no need to draw hurried conclusions. We just have to understand why we didn’t have the rhythm to race at the front.” Sébastien Buemi, #9 “A weekend to forget! But a contrasting weekend at least as we managed to show good pace in Free Practice until the car worked less after 34 laps. We must understand why we had those issues and fix them before Marrakesh. Today, we didn’t have the pace that we should have. The objective now is to analyze the data we’ve collected, understand it and optimize the car in order to be back on top.” Pour Plus D'informations: Christophe DEVILLE Manager Campagne Communication SportAuto +33 (0)1 76 84 64 83 [email protected] GROUPE RENAULT PRESS OFFICE Tel.: +33 (0)1 76 84 63 36 [email protected] Communiqué De Presse 03 DÉCEMBRE 2017 HongKong ePrix : An inconclusive weekend for Renault e.dams Despite a positive start to the day and a thrilling second race with many overtakes, Renault e.dams leaves Hong Kong with 7 points under their belt, thanks to the ninth and eighth places from Nicolas Prost and the tenth from Sébastien Buemi after race winner Daniel Abt’s disqualification. • The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV2 Concludes the 2016/2017 FIA Formula E Championship in Style in Montreal
MEDIA INFORMATION 2016/2017 FIA Formula E Championship ePrix of Montreal – 11th and 12th rounds The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV2 concludes the 2016/2017 FIA Formula E Championship in style in Montreal Lucas Di Grassi (Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport) claims the 2016/2017 Drivers’ crown The Teams’ title goes to Renault e.dams The last two races of the 2016/2017 FIA Formula E Championship were held in Montreal which was hosting the series for the first time. A big crowd turned out to watch the all-electric action in the Canadian city’s Ville-Marie district, and the majority of the drivers described the 2.75km, 14-turn street circuit – which formed a challenging rectangular loop around the landmark Maison de Radio-Canada building – as one of the best of the season. To encourage different strategies for the meeting’s two races, Saturday’s clash featured 35 laps, while Sunday’s lasted two laps longer as the teams and drivers battled to settle the outcome in their respective championships once and for all. The drivers were able to count on their MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV2 tyres which have risen successfully to the different challenges they have faced since their introduction at the start of Formula E’s third campaign. Their exceptional versatility has allowed the teams to cover an exceptionally wide spectrum of conditions and venues around the world without having to make any compromises in terms of either performance or longevity. “First of all, I would like to congratulate Lucas Di Grassi and his team Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport on their success in the 2016/2017 Drivers’ championship,” said Michelin Motorsport Director Pascal Couasnon.

  • FULLY ELECTRIC FIA FORMULA E CHAMPIONSHIP RETURNS to FS1 with MONACO Eprix
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Erik Arneson, FOX Sports Thursday, May 11, 2017 [email protected] FULLY ELECTRIC FIA FORMULA E CHAMPIONSHIP RETURNS TO FS1 WITH MONACO ePRIX Formula E is a ‘Statement Series’ Creating a Platform for the Development of Technologies that Can Benefit the World CHARLOTTE, NC – The fully electric Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Formula E Championship, now in its third season, returns to FS1 on Saturday, May 13 (11:30 AM ET) with versatile motor sports broadcaster Bob Varsha hosting coverage from the Monaco ePrix. After defending Formula E champion Sebastien Buemi got off to a perfect start to the season, winning the championship’s first three events, the points race got a lot tighter and a little more interesting after Lucas Di Grassi’s bold victory in Mexico City trimmed Buemi’s lead to just five points heading into Monaco. The 1.097-mile, 12-turn Monaco ePrix circuit is a shortened version of the familiar Grand Prix course, as the Formula E version takes a hard right at Ste Devote rather than carrying on up the hill to Monte Carlo. From here, drivers run along the marina to the Nouvelle Chicane, where they make the hard right to rejoin the GP layout at the chicane at the exit of the tunnel. The remainder of the circuit follows the traditional route around the Swimming Pool, through Rascasse and Antony Noghes and back to the start/finish straight. Varsha, who will be joined by Martin Haven and Nicki Shields, with analysis from driver Mike Conway, offers insight into where Formula E fits on the motor sports spectrum and what we can look for this weekend from Monaco on FS1: FOX SPORTS: Monaco – like Le Mans, Daytona and Indianapolis, is synonymous with racing, so how important is it for Formula E to win over this city and its racing-knowledgeable fans long term and does racing in Monaco add to interest in Formula E? VARSHA: The Formula E mission is to demonstrate the potential of clean electric power in the form of motorsports entertainment in major cities, where emissions-free mobility is most needed.

Donau/Marrakesh, January 8, 2018 – Return to winning ways – this is Team Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler’s aim for the Formula E round in Marrakesh (Morocco). Following a difficult opener in Hong Kong, the two campaigners, Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi, are traveling to round three of the electric racing series’ season to be held on the African continent on January 13 with high motivation. From the streets of the Hong Kong metropolis to the northwest of Africa: Formula E, in which Audi is involved with a factory-backed commitment for the first time in the 2017/2018 season, is stopping in Morocco. This Saturday, ten teams and twenty drivers will be battling for points and trophies on Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan on the second race weekend of the electric racing series. Team Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler has ambitious aims. “There is a very strong motivation within the team to bounce back, and that goes for us all,” says Team Principal Allan McNish. Daniel Abt had clinched his first Formula E victory in Hong Kong but was subsequently disqualified due to an administrative error of his team in filling out the vehicle’s passport. “Although we were not allowed to carry the big trophy home after Hong Kong we now know that the Audi e-tron FE04 is a car that can win races.

  • A Very Strong Debut for the New MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV2 at the First FIA-Sanctioned Race to Take Place in Hong Kong
MEDIA INFORMATION FIA Formula E Championship 2016/2017 A very strong debut for the new MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV2 at the first FIA-sanctioned race to take place in Hong Kong The first ePrix of the 2016/2017 FIA Formula E Championship was held today (Sunday, October 9) in Hong Kong where the organisers designed a 10-turn, 1.860km street circuit for the first ever round of an FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) championship to be held on the island. The 20 cars featured new liveries and significant technical changes compared with 2015/2016, including the fitment of the latest-generation MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV2 tyre. The race kicked off at 4pm local time in overcast conditions with the thermometer standing at barely more than 30°C (track: 45°C). The inaugural season’s champion Nelson Piquet Jr started from pole position, with his NEXTEV NIO team-mate Oliver Turvey alongside on the grid’s front row. DS Virgin Racing’s José Maria Lopez and Sam Bird monopolised the second row, with Sébastien Buemi (Renault e.dams) in fifth spot. Lucas Di Grassi (ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport), the Swiss driver’s main rival during Season 2, lined up last after an accident during qualifying. After a relatively drama-free start (although ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport drivers were forced to pit for repairs after collisions), the race ran without incident until Lap 17 when a crash for Lopez brought out the safety car. Some drivers took advantage of the slow-speed neutralisation to bring forward their mandatory mid-race car swap.
