British Mensa Annual Gathering DoubleTree Hotel London - Docklands Riverside 265 Rotherhithe St, London. SE16 5HW This booking form is primarily concerned with those events which need to be pre-booked because they constitute an expense or there are a limited number of places available. Some additional unlimited and free events will be available across the weekend and these can be discovered on the BMAG2016 website. Along with the traditional SIGs display and games room, in recent years a trend towards making and crafting on Sunday afternoon has developed. This year there will be a dedicated space for this on Sunday afternoon. Please note: Times listed for events are for leaving the hotel and approximate return to the hotel. A list of meeting times at venues will be available ahead of the weekend. All travel to events is on foot or by public transport. We recommend purchasing an Oyster Card or using a contactless bank card for travel to avoid ticket queues. See bmag2016.london or contact organisers for more information For events listed as “no age restriction”, under 16s must still be accompanied by an adult TO RESERVE YOUR HOTEL ACCOMMODATION Please book directly with the Doubletree Dockland Riverside hotel via the special link on www.mensa.org.uk website (go to the BMAG pages in the events section) DoubleTree Hotel London - Docklands Riverside 265 Rotherhithe St, London. Things to note when planning your AG weekend Event times As noted above, all the times listed are when the groups will leave the hotel. You may want to travel directly from one event to another. If so, please email [email protected] to double check what is practical. Some events take place close together such as those at the Olympic Park and Greenwich, the individual events have been arranged so that it is possible to go from one to another in the same general location. See the schedule on page 4. Greenwich trip on Sunday On Sunday in place of a traditional coach trip we are offering a series of interlinked events in Greenwich. The events are individually selectable and the times shown on page 6 are from the hotel, however Greenwich is not a large town so you may find it advantageous to remain in Greenwich between events rather than returning to the hotel. Events with direct links are shown on the schedule on page 4 though you may wish to take additional free time in Greenwich between events. There are two options to get to Greenwich either public transport or a guided walk from the hotel, and similarly there are two options to return, public transport or a guided cycle tour using the Santander Cycle hire. Please note that the guided travel options clash with some of the events. Travel Past experience of London AGs has taught us that travel by public transport is easier and quicker than booking coaches that get stuck in traffic. We will start many events by crossing the river on the hotel ferry so it is important you are ready to leave on time. Travel on London Transport is best using a pre-paid Oyster Card or a contactless debit card so that you just touch in an out of barriers. Please note we are calculating travel time on this basis and not including time for ticket queues. Please see bmag2016.london for more information and links to the Oyster Card website.
