Houston, TX Welcome! Houston, TX Welcome! We are looking forward to your visit to the Houston Ropeworks Training Center. Our training center is located in La Porte, TX under 30 minutes from William P Hobby (HOU) Airport and 45 from George Bush International Airport (IAH) and close to a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Don’t forget to schedule some time outside of your course to take advantage of the region’s many cultural and recreational opportunities. Ropeworks Instruction Ropeworks has developed a world-class training system. Instructors are known for their technical expertise, as well as their skill as educators. All Ropeworks instructors are professionals that actively work at height. Essential skills are learned and retained best when every candidate is given individual attention. Therefore, our average student-to- instructor ratios are 4:1 and will not exceed 6:1 for all rope access and rescue courses. Climate During the summer months, it is common for the temperature to reach over 90 °F (32 °C), with an average of 99 days per year above 90 °F (32 °C). However, the humidity causes a heat index higher than the actual temperature. Winters in Houston are mild. The average high in January, the coldest month, is 63 °F (17 °C), while the average low is 43 °F (6 °C). Snowfall is very rare. Please keep in mind that the training center will tend to reflect some of the outside temperatures. The best way to prepare for outside temperatures is to log on to your favorite weather website a few days prior to your visit. Extra-Curricular Activities Regardless of what your interests are, Houston has attractions just right for you. From Space Center Houston (home to NASA's Mission Control) to the largest Fine Arts Museum in the Southwest, the options are many. Houston rates first among the nation's 10 most populous cities in total acreage of parkland, beating out Phoenix’s 45,020 acres and San Diego’s 47,383 acres, with 49,643 acres of total park space. Some of our favorites include the Kemah Boardwalk; Battleship Texas and San Jacinto Battleground State Historical Park. • January 2020 of the Holy Spirit, Who Is in You, Whom You Have Received from God? You Are Not Your Own; You Were Bought at a Friends, Price
An Aftercare Program of Lake Ridge Chapel & Memorial Designers Do you not know that your bodies are temples January 2020 of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a Friends, price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies. I always start the new year off talking about getting healthy and living a healthy lifestyle. January is when people make New Year’s resolutions, and 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV) the #1 resolution is to lose weight. More than likely, our holiday snacking has overloaded us on sugar! I encourage you to come to our weight loss support group, which meets at the Chapel on Monday mornings at 9am. It’s been fun to meet friends and encourage each other in our goals for the week. The most important thing is to feel good, have energy, and help your self-esteem. On a different note, next month we will start signing up for our Spring Trip to Poteet, Texas, the Strawberry Festival, and then to the Riverwalk in San Antonio! We will have details at the dinner in February and in the March newsletter. Our Christmas Home Tour went very well, and we will have the report on the money raised at February’s dinner. We are excited to report that most of the proceeds went to benefit “Communities in Schools” for needy children. I’m sure everyone is resting from the busy holiday season, but try not to miss the things that we have on our calendar.
