Steampunk is a subgenre of science fantasy that reimagines modern technology powered by 19th century steam. The Blists Hill event - The Town That Never Was - forms part of Ironbridge Gorge Museum’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Highlights of the festival include an exhibi- tion of steampunk art, costumes and sculp- tures, a living history encampment, inflatable dinosaurs featuring in an interac- tive event, the chance for youngsters to track down fairies hidden in a garden and a craft area in which kids can make their own steampunk items.
