38th World Scout Conference

There are four ways to fly to Jeju Island: 1. Direct international flight 2. Transfer through Asian major hub airports where direct flights to Jeju Island are available 3. Transfer from International Airport (ICN) which is the gateway to the Republic of 4. Transfer through Incheon International Airport, bus transfer to Gimpo Airport (GMP - the second airport of ) and then to Jeju Island

Please make sure to arrange your travel until Jeju Island. The IATA code of Jeju International Airport is CJU.

1. & 2. Flying straight to Jeju Island 9 international routes (Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Taipei and Kaohsiung) fly to/from Jeju Island.

3. From Incheon International Airport From Incheon International Airport, there are a few flights to Jeju Island with and , with a flight time of approximately one hour. For flight schedules, please check the airline websites.

4. From Gimpo International Airport There are 50 to 70 flights everyday from Gimpo Airport to Jeju with Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, and Hansung Airlines and the flight time is approximately 50 minutes. For flight schedules, please check the airline websites.

Travel from Incheon to Gimpo Airport takes about 30 minutes. However you should plan 3 hours between your arrival time at Incheon International Airport and your departure time at Gimpo International Airport to allow for check in. Therefore if you arrive at Incheon International Airport after 17:30, you may not be able to fly on the same day to Jeju Island and you should stay overnight in one of the hotels near to Gimpo airport. The can assist when booking such an hotel.

Participants will be assisted with the transfer between the Seoul Incheon International Airport and Seoul Gimpo International Airport. These transfers will be organised by the Korea Scout Association and provided free of charge on the 3 days before the Conference (11-13 July) and 3 days immediately after the Conference (18-20 July).

Jeju Airport Welcome Whether flying to Jeju Island directly or through Seoul, participants will be welcomed by the Host Committee upon arrival at Jeju International Airport and will be transferred by bus to the Conference hotels.

Please note that depending on their citizenship, participants may not be able to enter Korea directly via Jeju Island but must first enter through Seoul. For further information please visit: www.mofat.go.kr/index.jsp

ICC Jeju is about 40 minutes drive from Jeju International Airport.

Participants coming from the World Scout Youth Forum The Host Committee is planning to organise a special touring programme from 11 to 13 July 2008 for those young adults participating in the World Scout Youth Forum and in the World Scout Conference, to enable them to stay in Korea at no extra cost. This inter-event programme is organised only for those young adults who will participate in both the Conference and Youth Forum and will have registered in advance for both events.

Participants who will join this inter-event programme (going from Iksan to Jeju Island) and the Conference will have transport provided to get to Jeju Island and the Conference venue, but will have to buy their own ticket to fly from Jeju Island back to Seoul or another destination after the Conference.
