An organisation dealing with research funding in 10 African universities in Eastern and Southern Africa. 2005 – 2007 Member of the National Committee working on the National Policy on Traditional Medicine and Medicinal Plants with the National Coordinating Agency for Population and Development, Ministry of Planning and National Development. 2011 – to date, Member of the National Organising Committee of the Kenya Chapter of Society of Economic Botany which was launched in June, 2011. 2013 – to date, Member of the National Education Board (NEB). 2014 – to date, Life member of Association of the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK); Member of the National Executive Board. 2014 – to date,Member of Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) Technical Committee on Special Needs Education.

RESPONSIBILITIES WITH THE NATIONAL GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT FACILITY (GEF) UNDER NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL SECRETARIAT (NES now NEMA) The main responsibilities were to go through project proposals and sit in the National GEF Task Force that reviewed them. Proposals reviewed by the Task Force in which I have sat, included: (a) Biodiversity Conservation, Aberdare Forests and Adjacent Farms – Kenya by The Indigenous Technology Development Centre. (b) Medicinal Plants and Local Communities’ Strategies for the Conservation of Medicinal Plants Genetic Resource in Africa, by Environment Liaison Centre International. (c) Lake Baringo Community Based Integrated Land and Water Management Project by Office of the President, Baringo District.
