PR09-13 Men’s European Water Polo CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2013 Final Four allocated to Belgrade LEN Office ‐ LEN informs that the Men’s European Water Polo Champions League Final Four of 2013 scheduled for 31 May and 1 June has been allocated to Belgrade (SRB). The LEN Bureau decided on the allocation of the LEN Event at their recent meeting in Budapest (HUN). The only previous occasion in which the concluding round of the men’s most prestigious continental club competition took place in Serbia was in Becej in the year 2000. With two clubs from the Serbian capital still in contention in the Eight Finals that will play their second legs on 20‐21 March, the Serbian capital will offer a spectacular setting for Water Polo lovers from Europe and all other continents. The venue of the Final Four will be announced soon. LEN is grateful to the Serbian Water Polo Federation, the City of Belgrade, and local authorities for the support in hosting this year’s Champions League climax. The four participating clubs will be known after the Champions League Quarter Finals to be played on 17 April and 1 May. PRESS RELEASE LEN PR 44/2020 LEN Champions League Draw sets up non-stop thrilling in Group A LEN TWPC Chairman Gianni Lonzi and LEN Operations Manager Marco Birri conducted the draw for the group phase of the Champions League on Monday in Rome. Group A features at least four former champions. Teams were drawn into two groups of six, the batches were based on the last finished edition in 2019. Group A looks to offer a hell of action with four former winners already on board, including 2018 champion Olympiacos (GRE), 2015 winner Recco (ITA) and 2016 gold medallist Jug (CRO), plus 4-time front-runner Spandau (GER). Add 2018 Euro Cup winner Marseille (FRA), and consider that on paper 2017 winner Szolnok (HUN) is the outstanding favourite to clinch one of the two qualifying berths and it would land in this group if it manages to do through in mid-NoVember. Though no less excitement would be guaranteed if one of the two great Croatian teams, Mladost Zagreb or Jadran Split would come out on top at the end of the qualifications – so constant entertainment is guaranteed in Group A. In Group B title-holder FerencVaros (HUN) and 2014 champion Barceloneta (ESP) seem to be the two top contenders – their clash is going to be a rematch of their memorable 2019 semi-final where the Hungarians staged a miraculous 4-0 run to reach the final after being two goals down after three periods. Since Final Eight host HannoVer (GER) has a guaranteed spot in the endgame, the run for the remaining three places – and possible the last one behind the two giants – will be absolutely thrilling here between Jadran, Dinamo and the other qualifier.

PRESS RELEASE LEN PR 116/2019 Champions League, Main Round, Day 5 – Preview Recco is to maintain 33-game home run against title-holder FTC In the highlighted clash of the 5th round 8-time winner Pro Recco faces title- holder FTC-Telekom. The Italians enjoy a 33-game unbeaten run at home since the autumn of 2013 but it’s going to be a tough test for them. In Group A Olympiacos is set to march on after nail-biting wins over Jadran Carine and Szolnok – Spandau, despite earning two draws so far, might not be the first team to the halt the Greeks’ four-match winning streak. Jug can recover from the shocking defeat in Split in the previous round and they are on their way thanks to a fine win over home arch-rival Mladost in the domestic competition. Here Sintez would need something special to stay close to the Croats in their home pool. Jadran caused the biggest upset in this group so far by catching Jug on Day 4 and another win would definitely place them among the top contenders for the F8 berth. However, they miss five key players now and even if Szolnok is in the middle of a bad series (back-to-back losses to Barceloneta and Olympiacos, a big defeat against Ferencvaros in the home league), the weakened line-up may prevent the Croats from bringing down another favourite. Though Jadran Carine earned its first point in Berlin, this time the young Montenegrins face another uphill battle against Barceloneta. I tifosi della Pro Recco non sono da meno, quanto a sostegno. Lo sono solo numericamente, al punto che possono essere menzionati uno per uno: Sandro, Michela, Piero, Paolo, Sara, Marco, Roberta, Marco, Carlo, Ezio, Michele, Valentina, Federico e la mitica Andreina Figari, 85enne, che già due ore prima della gara era in tribuna. Tutti uniti in una due giorni non certo rilassante, in mille peregrinazioni per amore di questi colori. E’ già una vittoria, questa. Equilibrio assoluto per i primi tre minuti con un’espuslione per parte, senza alcuna concretizzazione. Poi però lo Jug sfrutta la sua terza con Sutalo (nel pozzetto Gitto). PRESENTACIÓ DE LA FINAL SIX WATERPOLO BARCELONA 2014 Barcelona albergarà la Final Six de Waterpolo 2014 i 2015, la fase final de la màxima competició continental de clubs que enfrontarà els sis millors equips d'Europa d'aquest esport. El Club Natació Atlètic-Barceloneta ja va organitzar la Final Four de waterpolo masculí l’any 2008, però en el format de 6 equips és la primera vegada que s’organitza a Barcelona i arreu. Barcelona tornarà a ser l’escenari d’un esdeveniment esportiu de primera línia i d’un esport amb arrels històricament barcelonines i que ha esdevingut un referent europeu i mundial al llarg dels últims 40 anys. El Club Natació Atlètic-Barceloneta es convertirà, en les dues properes edicions, en l’entitat organitzadora, un Club centenari de la ciutat, que ha format part de la història de l’esport a Barcelona i que ha escrit algunes de les seves pàgines més exitoses.
